Humble Pie- Eat It.

I've got that on vinyl, and therefore haven't heard it for 20 years.   I wonder if it's on Spotify....?

Did you see the X factor Queen week? Entirely predictable song choices!
I think I hate being indecisive.

Of course.     That's why I'm listening to Queen.

They really are atrocious this year.  Why the $%&# did "rocker" Jamie Afro do Radio Ga Ga?  I've never liked that song.  And as for Olly with his David Brent dancing....

That dancing is very nauseating. I have no idea why Radio Ga Ga was chosen. No idea at all.

I was mildly embarrassed when May and Taylor appeared for the group song.

The box-set of remastered Kraftwerk albums landed on my desk today at last so I'm working my way through those in no particular order.  They sound amazing - the albums no longer sound like the band are in the next room playing through a mattress.  Very happy.  Haven't been this pleased with a remastering since the early Z Z Top albums got restored to their original state.

Mumford & Sons - (can't remember the name of the record this early in the morning but its ace)

Baroness - Blue Record (get it, its reet good)

Beyonce - I am...Sasha Fierce (yeah its a bit gay but she has a damn good voice)

Skeletonwitch - Breathing the Fire (NWOTM, its closer to Slayer than Bring Me The Horizon so there aren't any cheesy sub drops/electronic bits or haircuts)

Converge - Axe to Fall (not as good as all the reviews said it would be. Could be a grower)

Mike TV - Mike TV (the UK's answer to Green Day. Witty Punk Pop tunes with great harmonies, if you HAVEN'T heard this band yet then get on YouTube and check out their videos. You'll either love it or hate it)

Paddy
GREAT GOOGILY MOOGILY!

Mutter - Rammstein.

I think I'll be giving the limited edition box set of the new album a miss though. Surely that sort of stuff is only for 'real' collectors/fans!

Not sure what this X factor arsery might be to which you refer - we've managed to avoid every single thing with an X in it, mainly by not watching ITV I spose - but have you ever listened or watched a live Queen performance of Radio Ga Ga? I utterly loathed it until I saw it live at Knebworth, and then it made a lot of sense (as did my other least favourite, "Under Pwessure") - I like the live versions, but I still don't listen to the studio one if I can avoid it :D

On a total NIN bender right now. Got The Fragile on now and been listening to Pretty Hate Machine all weekend. The original version of Hurt is fantastic. $%&# Johnny Cash. That dissonant first chord makes me shiver.

John Mayers New album - Battle Studies. YEs it'll annoy the hell outta some on here but, bugger me if it isn't some of the finest pop/soft rock written songs out there. The man can play
"Praising Phil X for his enthusiasm seems a bit like praising Hitler for his ambition"
