I've been paying attention a lot more to his lead after your comments. I've owned Tokyo Tapes for years and never really noticed on that... but with the early studio albums I got recently, it's made me listen to it more closely... and wow, he is/was a hell of a guitarist.

(And I've got used to his voice! :lol:)

My mum had a record of him playing this piece back in the 1970s, I must have been 9 years old when I first heard this and even at that age I could tell that this man was something very special indeed. Watch and be inspired.

My favourite piece of classical guitar music played by my favourite classical guitarist.  He's awesome.  :)

Scream, Ozzy.

Now, I have a love/hate relationship with Mr Osborne.  I love Sabbath, the Randy Rhodes stuff, and some of his other work, but quite often he's too cabaret, if you know what I mean.

But I've just been listening to Scream on the way to and back from the Billericay Beer Festival (where we (Fallen Poets) were playing), and I'm loving it!

Quite heavy, compared to some of his more recent stuff, and his vocals are sounding really good, considering he's Ozzy Osborne!  Definitely worth a listen.

Listening to Rainbow's "Rising" and "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll". I've just bought the remastered CDs as for years I'd been missing out. I feel pretty bad that it took the passing of Dio to spur me into actually buying more than a "best of" album. It's amazing stuff.

Yeah, I finally got round to getting On Stage after he died :(

It's the album that got me into rock in 79/80. This led me into Deep Purple, and then at the same time I got into Led Zeppelin (which took me into blues).

Listened to it quite a bit over the last couple of weeks.

it's probably wrong to make comparisons but I couldn't help watching Segovia's rendition of the same piece and I'm afraid John Williams makes him look like a struggling amateur

Fuzzy Gretsch guitars, fuzzy bass and a simple drumkit with a bass, snare and two cymbals.

Gothic, psychobilly, rockabilly, punk with sick, twisted humerous lyrics.

Lately, it has been Albert Ayler, Sun Ra, Bud Powell and Cecil Taylor. Some of Liszt's later piano concertos. I am pissed at my parents, their taste in music led me to believe that piano was an instrument suited only for fern-bar jazz and light classical.

Also Vijay Iver, after my fleabitten little wife and I saw his Trio in concert last week.

Plus my usual old-time blues, R&B, soul, funk and country cuts.

A side-band of Billy Corgan.  It's highly likely the studio version of this will surface as part of the ongoing new Smashing Pumpkins album.
