Robin Trower - A Tale Untold: The Chrysalis Years (1973-1976)

Basically this is the first five Trower albums (including Live!, my all-time favourite album), remastered, plus a few rarities, on three CDs.

Guitar music doesn't get any better.  :D

Truth, a cr@ppy song with a solo to increase the the track time is still a cr@ppy song. A well written song with a fitting and skillful solo can also be heaven.

Black Breath - Heavy Breathing

Not sure on it yet. There are some great heavy grinding riffs but I don't like the thrashy bits much and the vocals will probably annoy me after a while!

Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up The Girl for me again today. Awesome album, there are only 2 songs I don't get on with, the rest are pop-rock perfection!

I saw this band recently. I thought I'd met one of them before in london with some mutual friends, but I wasn't sure.
pretty heavy. not really my thing... I walked out on them part way through, if im honest. I've heard some mixed opinon from average fella's and even music journos. I wouldn't say they are bad though. Plus they were rockin' full stacks with JCM800 in a smallish venue. That's pretty metal.

Electric Sun - Firewind

Amazing guitar work, and songs far better 'Earthquake'. Uli's singing is completely comedic though. Nevertheless its a lead guitar masterclass.

Really into it.

its pompous and overblown. theres a couple of good tracks, but i can't recommend it. Firewind and Earthquake much better.
