I stumbled across a band from Sweden called Graveyard for the first time last week and have been playing the three albums they have solidly. If you are remotely interested in awesome classic rock but like to hear new band play it from the heart check these guys out.

I have no idea why they seemed to have passed me by until now. This is the shitee...

There's a good remastered collection of the Moving Sidewalks out now called, unimaginatively, "The Complete Moving Sidewalks". Really good funky, fuzzy, Texas psychedelia from '67-'68. I reckon the guitarist in that band could really make something of himself...

I've heard some Graveyard stuff before, but Riverside is a completely new one to me.

I'm so out of touch nowadays.... but it doesn't even bother me that much.  Which is sort of worrying in itself.  :?

Graveyard are the only modern band of this style I've heard in a long time that sound like the real deal. So many classic rock style bands sound like pale imitations of their influences. These guys seem to have real mojo. The albums really capture the band well and the live clips I've seen of them are really electric.

Riverside are a prog outfit. A bit Porcupine Tree, with a Floydian influence. New album is properly retro sounding though. A bit different and I'm really digging it (not that I don't dig their early stuff). Great live band too.

I like Porcupine Tree so gave that a listen. And I like it.

Noce one - cheers!
I think I hate being indecisive.

Rick Derringer - Face To Face

Like all Derringer albums, the songwriting is patchy, but on this particular one there are some killer guitar solos.  This made a big impression on me when I bought it on vinyl in 1980, both the music and the BC Rich on the cover!  Great to finally have it on CD.

I just re-fitted the radio that came with the merc. Doesn't even have a tape deck. Loving it!
