i guess the marshall dsl50 might be worth a try, but I suspect the laney is better (judging by the other laneys i've tried)

Laney's are becoming more and more popular lately, for a very good reason. They sound just as good sometimes better than most amps out there and they're all priced under £1000. Can't go wrong

One of my mates has got one and I dont like it at all. Cleans are ok but the amps got no balls

I havent been able to try the Laney but I've heard only good things about it and all the clips I've heard sound perfect for me.

yeah, they definitely are excellent value for the money. For my money, they don't *quite* compete with the real boutique stuff- but they sound far, far better than they should for the money they charge.

Jeez, the little vc30 (£300!) only sounded slightly worse than a mesa lonestar special (£1500)!!!- though admittedly, the mesa does have a lot more features which is where a lot of the money is going.

I'd probably take a little vc30 over most amps under about £600...

EDIT: nick/dakine:

_tom_: laney it is, then. \m/  \m/
