That's on a high level, definitely, very tight and rhythmically demanding.
If I was to change something it would be add more dynamics, means if there's a break, try to change mood, switch to clean and pick some arpeggios or anything, so that after the next break the heavy riff will punch even more again.

It's this kind of frequent change of sound and mood that I love about SOAD. Not that you have to copy them but I find dynamics (dynamism?) is the most important thing besides harmonies and rhythm.

Thanks man, much appreciated.

Just to explain, the full song is 6 minutes long and there is a 2 minute long clean, ambient section...all will be revealed when it is finally released.

Well, that changes everything. Anyways, it's on a high level, there's not much you hear around in forums  which is that good!

What is your amp/setup? Sounds almost like a Framus Dragon I played recently. ...

Thanks man, I know what you mean though. I really like music with dynamics and music which moves in different directions.

For the recording I used a POD XT and did all the recording and mixing. We will be rerecording the track though through my Powerball, which will hopefully give us a little more clarity!
