I wrote to ebays security team to look at it.

If my suspicions are correct & someone stands to lose money then I will have done the right thing .

Otherwise I am being an interfering busybody- but rather than than see folks ripped off.

I hate dishonesty with a passion

I just feel that it is better to stop someone losing a load of money to a scam artist and have a few small minded individuals think you are a busybody, than to sit back and do nothing.

I mean the amount of money that would be lost £4000+ would buy a lot of BKPs or even custom built guitars.

I think you where right in doing that, and not even used ebay or having an account I wasn't sure who to contact, plus nobody had bid for it (way back then).

Only just saw the original advert, it's interesting to see the original is cheaper too. It's a lovely looking guitar from what I can see, I wonder what it plays & sounds like ?

Good decision, anyway it's better being called a busybody when there a high bids been placed.

As Philly said I'm now regretting taking the some action :( (looks like London is finally affecting my sense of decency)

I am wondering if this will go the same way as a 'Les Paul' that was being sold by a guy a few months back. It was obviously a Chinese copy (you only had to check his eBay history to see that he had bought it from China...) - someone bid the price up and up and then left really stinking feedback about 2 minutes after the end of the auction - no money (nor guitar!) ever changed hands.

Sorted the problem!

The CEO of Rickenbacker does something similar with Ric copies on EBay, but he asks real dumb questions, bids the price really high then gets the ad pulled in the last few hours.

The funny thing is the sellers answer the dumb questions on the auction page.
