I have a ceramic pig, still have a miracle man (suped up; "The Blackening"), and had a normal miracle man.
In tightness its really, really close between the MM and cWP. Really close. I wouldnt like to say, since guitar and setup is a factor. But both have the edge in tightness on an 81 (though its STILL close, but the 81 is a very tight pickup).
The cWP is also very capable of harmonics, but theres a definate difference there with the MM. The MM has more. No doubt about it.
The MM has a smoother mid, and cWP a bigger, more grinding sound, even in the ceramic version. Vast, freight train, unstopable "Fuc!<-it-we-dont-need-a-bass-player" low end. Though the MMs no slouch there, either.
Because of the greater compression and mid push I'd say the cWP is better for dime. But I dont know who the other band are, and went on 'tight and harmonics'. Hence...any more guidelines?
Oh: I keep both The Blackening and the ceramic warpig in C# standard or drop B. They've been lower and lapped it right up. I've had a standard A5 warpig (less tight, but still FAR more than an infinity) down in A with measly 11-53 guage. Sounded an awefull lot like early mastodon! The notes were still very very much there, it wasnt as tight, obviously, but nothing was lost!
