well i dont remember custom build ever being 'separated'...

but anyway, i actually said "cheap Ibanez RG's".... not just "cheap Ibanez'"...

therefore i'm referring to any RG, specifically, that's cheap compared to other RG's... not any old cheap Ibanez...

this is, once again, just splitting hairs...

BOTTOM LINE: i was referring to low-end RGs.... a £600 RG is NOT a low-end RG, no matter how cheap it is compared to a Prestige...

yes? im talking about RG's... no other ibanez' ever came into my argument...

Basically - I'm a teenager - 16, and you say that you - as a teenager - should be aiming for cheap "cool looking" guitars instead of good ones - Which I take as an insult :|

The RGT is and many people will agree here - A cheap RG, it's not the very bottom of the range - but it's korean built with stock INF pickups and as far as most people would recognise - a cheap RG. That being said - it's a good guitar imo. And if you want a lower range guitar - the 320 is also very good imo and is again - A cheap RG.

Not just "cool".

Teenagers other than yourself often PLAY guitars before they buy them too you know?

i still dont see how you can call £600 a cheap RG.... you can get £200 RGs.... how is 3x that figure, cheap? i dont understand...
 :?

i never made any reference to how good any of the guitars were... just price...

im insulting mySELF not you... i really dont see how you can be so offended...

i said i shouldnt be looking at guitars worth £1500 because im a teenager, and its crazy that im contemplating spending so much...

what your basically accusing me of, is guitar 'snobbery'... which is rich coming from someone with a £1300 ESP...

you've read far too much into this.

I paid £400 for my £1300 ESP - And it's the fact that you said teenagers all look at "cool looking" guitars which is what I'm insulted about =/

Can you calm it down please.

TBH you seem to spend a lot of time being fairly rude to people, but very quick to see everything as a personal attack. It stops being amusing after a while.

At least save it for PMs, and spare the rest of us

I suggest you reread the whole thread

This is all a continuation of the stereotype that all teenagers dream of playing  guitars in the shape of a rocket launcher to play Stairway to Heaven on.

But whatever, this has gone far enough I guess.

^thats exactly what i was aiming for... it was a sarcastic comment to poke fun at the stereotype of teenagers... nothing more nothing less.

just to clarify- it was a stab at the stereotype, not the people the stereotype refers to.

anyway, i've PM'd you.

and this thread isn't exactly of any use any more.

TO- a request for your zappy-powers here.

Football is fairly pointless, so I think that argument was more pointless :P

I am not going to go on about how different it is to "my day"-all I'd say is that if you have the money and you can afford it, get yourself the best you can.Chances are, the guitar will be with you for many years to come and will actually turn out to be inexpensive. Good on you Sambo and Woogie. Just don't get married and have kids at too early an age-my old Strat has come close to being sold in tough times but I managed to hold on to her and I am glad because that is more than did with the wife! So I have the guitar and the second Mrs 38th.
Send three and fourpence we're going to a dance

15 with custom made guitars isn't unusual. I`m 15 and mine is due from Legra soon and I`m discussing a 2nd with Bob too.

Some of the Patrick Eggles are really nice, the PRS style ones in a dark finish!! mmmmm

Good stuff Woogie
I like the Jae E Lee Charvels and getting something nice when you are a lefty is even more of a challenge.

We have made guitars for 15 year olds, and they have paid for them themselves - maybe with some Birthday and Xmas money thrown in.
They simply had realised that by changing their spending habits that they could get something special and of great quality, that they would chose to hang on to - good economics at the end of the day!

Good on you guys - looking forward to seeing that Legra Woogie, and Sambo - keep your nerve and only buy a guitar that you really like and will want to hang onto, even if the money is burning a hole in your pocket.

great bit of advice that. i'm trying to take that on board with money in general nowadays- it can be damn difficult though! but really beneficial i guess in the long run.

Sweet jesus how does a 15 year old find the money for two legras? 16, you can at least get a proper part time job but 15?

Aalthough I suppose I'm a teenager and I have about £1750 worth of gear, which I'm expecting to add another £6k to over the next year... Can't complain, really.

Basically, I've never really been one for dream guitars - £500 and a decent setup will get you a perfectly good guitar so £1500 will get you 3. Each to their own I guess but when I the couple of times I've played anything worth over a grand they've just bored me. Give me a wobbly tone pot or inlay glue on the fretboard any day. As long as the neck's good and it stays in tune cheapness just adds character in my book. Hmm.

Fernandes are indeed great guitars, I'm looking to buy my second ravelle, although I wouldn't touch a dave kushner one, each of his initials seem to add £200 to the price. I'm intrigued by the revolver elite, too, although being a small run could mean used prices stay high. Not sure I'd get on with the sustainer, either.
