I`ve just saved for ages haha. Luckily I haven't had to work yet. I said to myself that I can work now if I want extra cash but then I have a life time of work ahead so I`ll enjoy my childhood and money!! Premium bonds have been good to me  8). I don't buy anything else because I don't need to. Gonna ask Bob about an SG Junior clone or maybe a 1 humbucker strat when the blueburst is done. Btw Sambo, I think you should go for custom built

I'm no good at saving. Every time I want to put cash in the bank, I have to go past the music shop.
Result: 4000 songs on iTunes but 23 pence in my account
Feline Custom, Fender MIJ mustang bass
Orange rocker 30
VHII and Mississippi queen

ah, you must be the one who's winning when i'm not... darn premium bonds, i've had £500 in them since i was 16, haven't won yet!  by my reckoning and the law of averages, i should've won three or four times...

Sweet jesus how does a 15 year old find the money for two legras? 16, you can at least get a proper part time job but 15?

Aalthough I suppose I'm a teenager and I have about £1750 worth of gear, which I'm expecting to add another £6k to over the next year... Can't complain, really.

Basically, I've never really been one for dream guitars - £500 and a decent setup will get you a perfectly good guitar so £1500 will get you 3. Each to their own I guess but when I the couple of times I've played anything worth over a grand they've just bored me. Give me a wobbly tone pot or inlay glue on the fretboard any day. As long as the neck's good and it stays in tune cheapness just adds character in my book. Hmm.

I'm kinda 50/50 on that... i'd prefer to get a £500 (assuming it's good enough) for the stuff i don't play all that much of, but which i still want a specific guitar for (all the classic styles, basically), but for the stuff i do play a lot, i'm more than willing to fork out for the best i can.

wooooooah replies!

Woogie- interesting about the premium bonds..

and yer im VERY close to finalising a spec with Bob now...  :D

Feline- that blackmachine is WOW... i'm a fan of spalted tops as well... gorgeous.

Sam- i'll pass on the PRS thanks- it has a trem   evil things they are.

i never thought i would pay more than like £600 for a guitar... but i've become a bit obsessed recently... i have no need for several guitars... but i cant a guitar for £500 that will have me entirely happy on its own..

so, intstead of having 3 £500 guitars, as someone mentioned, personally im better off with one £1500 guitar... it'll be everything i want for my (very specific) needs in my band.... and i hate having to choose which guitar to play/bring it practises and gigs anyway
