Don't listen to them _tom_, there is lot of opinion without substance there, apart from some exceptions. Chances are that the guys who are bashing the new 1936s never even played one of each period.
Well, the best 2x12 that is out there seems to be the OS Bogner, however that'll set you back around 500 GBP so maybe that's not an option.
My Heritage cab cost around 300 GBP at Haar (
www.haarguitars.nl) - it's a great great cab, not as tight as some, rather very resonant, has tons of punch and good bass (due to its ported design). Comes with mixed Vintage30 and 12H30. When I tried cabs there, he also had a Brunetti 2x12 which was awesome too (very agressive sounding, but great) which had some dents and was going for less, I almost bought the Heritage AND the Brunetti as it was such a good deal. Haar is a quality guy, though he is more of a distributor than retailer, but maybe contact him in case you're interested, he might have some interesting stuff for you.
