Cheers!

All my amps have had Martin's hands in them.  I also have an EVJ combo, a Matamp Little Rock and a heavily modified Laney Klipp.  The Little Rock and a Matamp 1x12 have now been installed in my 'office' ready for some recording on my new computer.  I'll have to get round to doing some clips.

The Klipp has been coverted to Marshall Plexi Super Lead spec, with a couple of tweaks to suit my tastes, plus it has a switchable extra gain stage.

Basically, it's my version of the legendary SIR #39 "Appetite For Destruction" amp........

Unfortunately at low volume it sounds a bit cack.  It's pushing out over 120w clean (!!!!) and it needs winding up to get the power valves cooking.

Sounds awesome when you do, but I can't do that in my house for recording purposes!

I sold the 60w and one of my 100w, and kept the more 'used' 100w and had it modded.

I had to sell a couple to help fund the Martamp half stack  ;)

Doesn't Martin of Martamp now work for Jeff Lewis at Matamp?

I heard Jeff rang him to give him an earful over the name of his amp company, and ended up taking him on as staff!

That's not how it went - where did you hear that?

* Martin set up Martamp - Martin + amp = Martamp

* Someone on the Matamp forum started a thread about the company name as they'd seen Martin selling on eBay

* I pointed Martin to the thread, as I was just getting familiar with his work at that point, and he contacted Jeff of his own free will to see if Jeff had a problem with it and arranged a meeting

* Martin went to the factory for a chat, explained what his amp company was about, and Jeff was so impressed he hired him on the spot as a contactor for Matamp  8)

* Martin now builds and designs amps for Matamp, along with another builder they've taken on recently

Tis the truth...I made the call, initially to a slightly gruff Jeff, but after a few minutes explanantion, was invited to Meltham to "put the f***in' kettle on!"

Here's my personal Martamp set up, in genuine 1960's blue basketweave (last in the world apparently   )
