the inlay looks 100 times better in real life.  you just dont get the colour variation or figuring on a camera.  This is some high quality black pearl so its main colour is a smokey grey with pinky/purple and blue shimmers running through it.  It also has a very subtle mottling with makes it look a bit more skin like.  This wouldnt be out of place as the faceplate on a very expensive watch!!!!

i like the black pearl because its very subtle untill it catches the light.  i dont like inlays done in white pearl because they can look cheap against a dark fretboard.

Ah Wez that inlay just plain rocks, hehe. Good work on the neck too, looks like it would be a dream to play!

i reckon i am gonna do myself a nice plain explorer pro(smaller body) in the next couple of weeks - something  i have wanted to do for a while.  At least that way i will get to practice my set-necks like i wanted this summer!!!

This is what happens when i get GAS, i have to build it for myself!!!

Looking very nice indeed, Wes! Can't wait to see it attached to the body. The inlay looks great with the frets in, almost looks like it's holding the fret :)

Good show ol' chap!

i did it 12" radius to match the T-O-M bridge - although to be honest its easy enough to modify the the bridge radius if its needed so it was just me being lazy!!!!

I think we have done this already in ths thread but...

...not really trying to use this thread for advertising - dont think thats fair on tim.  I make 5-6 guitars a year and they are all priced individually based on the spec - because they are all different!!

I build what i want rather than what i need to to pay the bills, i have a full time (if you can call it that) job as a teacher for that.

if anybody has an idea for a guitar and wants me to make it they get in touch to see if its something i want to make, if i can fit it in, and how much i would charge.

prices are comparatively cheap but always different because the guitars are always different.

thanks for the question but its really better done by PM

nice to know philly Q

i do think the smaller size explorer is more practical for most players - including the relatively short ones!!!

It can be swung about a bit more freely than the classic explorer shape allows and that has to be a good thing for all sizes of guitar player.

after seeing people play both styles of explorer live, they always seem a bit more lively with an explorer pro - they just fit snuggly with the smaller size and the neck angle
