That looks awesome - that colour scheme is the ultimate for a tele! Sounds great as well, any chance you could do some clips of it with a proper mic through the shiva?

Will do, might have to be at the weekend though.

Wondering whether this guitar needs BKPs, at the moment those custom shop fender pickups seem to do just fine ...

well always like this with new guitars though  :lol:

Philly, it's just a blurry pic of a blonde Tele. The Baja is real good value for money, I paid 599 EUR which is pretty cool for this guitar.

Is 4Kg very heavy for a Tele?

hmm, 8.8lbs ain't really light for a Tele imo - you're in the lower end of Les Paul territory there mate.

It's not exceptionally heavy for an ash bodied Tele (assuming it's not swamp ash).  My American Ash Tele is over 9lb, I'm fairly certain - but I'm replacing the body with an alder one.

I do find that a heavy Tele isn't quite as uncomfortable as other heavy guitars, because it's well balanced.  It just sort of hangs there, whereas with some very heavy (or very light) guitars the body tries to swing round behind your back and the neck sticks out at a funny angle.  Or maybe I just have a funny body shape.  :?

I tried a Baja Tele the other day - very nice guitar but the weight put me off.  A Tele, to me, should be very light and resonant.  Mind you, if a heavy one sounds good then it must be OK!

It's my first Tele, and I'm hooked. I can understand now that Gibbons and Page both liked Teles and Les Pauls, as they have somehow similar qualities. Tele is more rough than a LP, but anyway, gotta love that design. Maybe this is not gonna be my last :o)

My local store had one in and I was interested in having a go-even more so now but I am not in the market for one-quite happy with my Tele.

Well it was really out of the box. Last night put new strings etc. Intonation was off in fact, and the neck needed some relief, but now it's very good. Was not too bad when I got it though to be fair.

When I did the video I was still not sure whether I'll keep it but now the tags have been removed.

Blonde ones are real hard to find but where I got mine, they have one left
