Question...
« on: October 04, 2007, 01:36:17 AM »
What companies are the best, of the highest grade, and generally all around rock when it comes to building handmade, custom LPs and/or Strats?  Price is of no consequence at this point, i am just trying to build a surplus of possibilities.

Please share your knowledge, O guitar gurus; share, share away...

I think most of us would opt for Jon ( Feline), Bob (Legra) or Wez as they are  forum members who contribute a lot of knowledge to the forum regularly.

I tried a Morgan Les Paul at the London Guitar Show - one piece rosewood neck, and have to say it was the most amazing guitar neck I had ever tried... the whole guitar oozed quality, but I have no experience of the other good suggestions here so couldn't compare...

nah, dont worry - genrally gibson style LP's are not my thing anyway!

i am generally more of a neck through or bolt-on neck kinda guy and always want to mess around with the design when approaching anything like a set neck LP

I really like this guys take on the LP - and i dont normally like blue quited maple Lp style guitars

heres the morgan link:

Not quite LP's but davids work is stunning and he is a really friendly guy:

thorn - also very nice stuff:

notice most of these are not making stright LP clones which is probably why i like them!

Thanks for the mention guys
We do seem to be making a lot of guitars lately - and lots of LPs too
However we make all sorts of stuff and have an interesting cross section in at present.

I am working hard to catch up a bit after the sad loss of a team member, and hope to get the customs rolling out nicely again.
Here is the one that I am finishing this week - Afghan Dave couldn't stop playing it earlier when he popped into the workshop
Will do some better pix soon.....
