right! basically I am a official nuno freak and i think i maybe able to answer your question. washburn did produce N4s with fancy finishes during mid 90's and the tobacco sunburst model was one of poplular version of em all (apart from natural finished ones of course).
I would classify N4s in 3 differnt groups.
1. original Davies model
these were produces during 91-92 by stephen davies himself along with 10 of skilled crews, and these n4s are regarded as the best n4s. these are what nuno himself has been using from 91 (well his one is the first one ever made and only N4 exists)
2. Washburn Factory Model
93-presence models. washburn factory made. Slightly different profiled body and neck and these includes paduck, various different finished ones, 10 year anniversary korina, snake skin etc etc. original black finished model were produced during 1993 and paduck model was also introduced in 93,
3. custom model
Well.. these n4s are ordered by washburn dealers like boogiestreet in usa, and they had various different finishes. all white, black, paduck etc. They seems to be the same models as factory ones but with different finishes.
950GBP seems a bit expensive if it is a second hand guitar. Do check their condition before you purchase it, ie.Fret Wear, surface condition, neck condition, serial number etc etc. If it is brand new sunburst model, think it is a quite reasonable price but not cheap! Remind you... you can order a brand new N4 from usa with pre-duty tax paid and free shipping to the u.k less than 1800dollars.
On final note, Apart from Davies model, it doesn;t matter what model you get, they are all same in my opinion
