i just watched it.  loved it... and thought the line fit my predicament quite well.  i was also hoping someone else may have seen it and picked up on the meaning

true blood is starting again soon (series 3 airs on the 13th), best theme tune ever.  complete cheese but complimented by enough sex and violence that i always want to watch it

Cloverfield.

Not bad at all actually - the first 20 minutes were pretty annoying though.

I watched The Hurt Locker the other day.  It is extremely well directed and acted, but I didn't find it all that involving somehow.

Ponyo - Japanese animated film from Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki while I enjoyed it (I'm a Miyazaki fan) it's not up there with his best work (Spirited Away, etc.). The story isn't very strong and is quite odd, most of Miyazaki film are. But with lovely visuals, sweet/cute moments everywhere and a strong heart, a very good film for children. As with Miyazaki there is always a Green message, this one is 'destruction from rising sea levels'. Tina Fey is the voice of the mother and I a huge fan of hers

Capitalism: A Love Story - Michael Moore documentary so you know what it'll be like and if you'll like it already   I think Moore is an excellent documentary maker, Bowling for Columbine is a great must-see film so I also liked this. It's not so much about what's wrong with Capitalism as it is an attack on the Banking and Finance sector and Government failure to see the potential dangers. The film is more like his earlier films (Roger & Me) so there are lots of failed attempts to interview 'the bad guys' and very soft interviews with 'the good guys'.

Food, Inc. - Documentary about the American food industry. I though it was really good though it's tough to tell how one-sided the arguments are. I am outraged that the food companies would take legal action to prevent consumer knowing what's in their food and the various monopolistic practices they undertake. So that being the case, the film 'worked'  :P

I just put Ponyo on my Lovefilm list. the general premise seemed a bit childish, but I liked My Neighbour Totoro, so I thought I'd give it a go.

You should watch it! There's really very little actual explicit scenes and they are tame. Well... the only scene that was a bit 'hard to swallow' was when they needed to go number 2.....

Sherlock Holmes - Guy Ritchie's version I enjoyed this film, it's good fun, action packed re-imagining with a steampunk-ish feel. The fight scenes were well done, there is an excellent Wing Chun (maybe JKD?) inspired bare knuckle boxing scene. It is a bit brainless but is aimed at a mass market audience, so Ritchie may have pitched it just right. As usual, the ending sets up the next film in the franchise. Robert Downey Jr was first class but he does that 'whispering' thing that so many screen actors do these days. I always find the dialogue difficult to pick up and often miss a word here-and-there. The tonal palette is muted and the highlight and shadows have been exaggerated giving the film a look of a graphic novel (much like 300) this works well IMO. However the 2 main female characters are shot in soft-focus which is cheesy and a pet peeve of mine. The script has plenty of good humour and the odd barb (the UK government is described as self-interested and corrupt) but I though in areas was lazy and could be tightened. Well worth a watch though I don't think many will view twice.

That's not on Sky yet, is it?  Couldn't see it anywhere, and I'd hate to miss her it.

There's been a few pretty nice broads in the first two series. I was gutted when they killed off Sam Merlottes girlfriend in series 2 (and Jason's in series 1).
