I'm rather annoyed now. I checked the delivery status and it said out of stock and back ordered :x Why can't they just put out of stock on the page if it's out of stock?! I'm gonna give them a ring tomorrow and cancel it if it's gonna take long.

EDIT: FYI, that's now soundslive and DV247 both out of stock. I'll find out if there are any left at other places.

OK I was wrong about the Faded ones being made in China and Vintage ones made in Korea. Early Vintage ones were made in Korea, then they switched to China, but all the Faded ones are made in China.

Mine's gonna be a Chinese one apparently. :( I'm hoping for the best.

Nope - hasn't got a 'hog top. I'm still looking out for an all mahogany custom....

That's what I thought - quite a good thing to GAS for, cause you're never gonna find one.

But seriously, did any of the Japanese brands ever make an all mahogany Custom? I have noticed that most of the older Jap Customs have rosewood instead of ebony fingerboards, which never looks quite right.

Wait wait... all mahogany custom... I'm SURE I read a passage about one earlier today. On one of the MIJ Dealer sites.... hold on I'll try and dig it out.

EDIT: I'm kicking myself here. I KNOW I read about an example of this when looking at the MIJ Vintage Pauls. Just can't remember where it was! Grr!

I'm pretty sure the Tokai LP custom in wine red has a mahogany top.

I'm considering canceling my order for the SG. If it's made in China I don't really think it's worth getting one mail order...

Yep, there's a Tokai Custom in wire red with a 'hog top. Not that many about though. I really want a black one, so I'm keeping my eye out for one of the re-issue older MIJ models like a Burny or an Orville by Gibson. They're a bit like hen's teeth, and a lot of them are just "regular" black customs. It's the '57 reissue ones I'm after but they're hard to identify....
