What's your oldest guitar?

Following on from a couple of comments in another thread (http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11831) got me wondering:

What's the oldest guitar in your collection?  Who are the vintage aficionados in the BKP forum?  I know Phil King is going to "win" this one, but anyone else?

My only vintage guitar is my '65 Gibson Melody Maker, just a little bit younger than me.  I did have a '64 SG Special, but never really got on with it - and I managed to sell it at a loss  :oops: .

Mine is my '83 JV Squier Strat.  It's also the first electric guitar I bought, with my saved up paper round money.  It cost £200 in the late eighties.

I don't lust after vintage gear - this is just old because I bought it a long time ago!

Gibson LP XR1 from 81. Its vintage to me, as its older than me :P
My amp is the same age as me, and god knows how old my MXR EQ is
An old enough rig for me

MIJ Stratocaster...
About 21 years old, I bought it 18 years ago, second hand (I think) lent it to someone about 14 years ago and got it back at the end of 2006...

My oldest guitar is a 1917 Washburn Parlor guitar.  In electrics it is the 1953 Les Paul conversion, followed by the 54 goldtop.  The guitar I have owned longest is my Ovation, which I bought in 1974 from the Rose Morris rep when I used to work at JSG in Bingley.

I would advise you search Phil's les pauls, Phils Strats, Phils Teles, Phils basses in the forum Guitars, Amps and FX. Its a mighty collection

i have an 1880's banjolelle if that counts!!

other than that it would be my teisco spectrum bass which is mid sixties.. and both are in the long list of things that need restoring

the bass looks like this but metallic blue and in very bad condition because i have had it since i was 16 and its been a victim of my learning curve :wink:

oh.. i forgot.. i also have a hofner thinline single cutaway body sitiing in the workshop that was never made into a guitar... when i got it it was stuffed with german newspapers all dated around 1962  the plan is to make a nice neck to fit it and give it a real rockabilly vibe.. maybe a 50's flame paint job...

my oldest is a 1985 Gibson Alpha model Q3000.  not a brilliant guitar, and i've nearly sold it a few times, but it's sheer oddness has made me hold onto it, and every so often i take it out and play it, just in case it's magically turned into a thing of wonder while i wasn't looking  :roll:  :wink:

my oldest SHOULD be a 1975 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, but it's been at the repair man so long now i've decided i don't currently own it  :(  :evil:
