Another thought: look at Agile guitars, they would almost certainly have some GREAT deals and they have fantastic craftsmanship. If you are not looking to pay as much as the ESP or Jackson, however, i would go for the tried and true Ibanez, quality for price just can't be beat in that catagory. :)

First you say schecters have bad setups and you point to agile?
Only go for Agile if you are looking for value ABOVE ALL ELSE - They're a complete gamble - Half the time you'll have trem screws with destroyed threads, or strap buttons screwed at an angle etc.
Every story I hear about Agile seems to be worse than the previous - Sure, a good Agile is probably a good guitar, but since you can't try them out - I would never risk it.
On the other hand, I don't understand what people are saying about Schecter, the C1s and above play brilliantly, and are superbly finished in my experience.
