Anyone watching Black Mirror? I thought the first episode was alright but 2nd was awesome! Really enjoyed it but sort of felt unsettled afterwards.

Ein..... Zwei..... Die!

There are much worse zombie films than that - try Hell of the Living Dead (aka Zombie Creeping Flesh aka Virus aka....etc) for starters!

well, i just finished watching the final episode of american horror story and it was quite an experience....  Apparently its been picked up for a second series which is odd as this episode felt just like they had been told it was canned and had to squeeze 2 series worth of material into one episode.   It worked though, felt oddly disjointed and a bit surreal - and lots of fun!!

Just watched The Sound Of Music for the first time since I was very young.

When you take away everything you think you remember about it, it's a great film!

Now - I wonder if I can find Brief Encounter on Sky...
BKPs Past and Present - Nailbombs, Mules, Blackguard Flat 50's, VHII's & Trilogy Suite with Neck & Bridge Baseplates!

Whether or not you like the film, that is the single greatest tagline of any movie ever of all time in this universe and the next.

I quite like the one for Killer Klowns from Outer Space:

Just watched The Thing (2011)

as a tie in and prequel to the 80's john carpenter 1982 film it was brilliant, as a film in its own right, you would be better watching the original first

lets put it this way, i have both on the computer right nor and watched the 1982 version a month or so ago.  when i turned on the new one i was sure  i had started the old one by mistake.  It looks just right and feels just right all the way through

the big difference comes down to digital vs physical effects.  and i have to say even the bad physical effects from the original look good next to the bad CGI in the new one, but there are a lot of similarities and it does feel like the same alien.

I liked it.  I liked it because it goes to extreme lengths to tie in with the john carpenter version and i liked it because Mary Elisabeth Winstead is $%&#ing cool and beautiful in everything she does

They're not bad physical effects!  :o   I think The Thing is just about the pinnacle of "real" practical FX movies, they still look amazing IMO.

you are right, they are certainly not bad physical effects and may be some of the best out there... but stuff like faces never quite work with physical effects.

My point was, even taking the limitations of physical effects into account, and those limitations do become clear at some points during that version of The Thing, they are still a lot better than cr@ppy CGI which the new one relies on.  although it does have some reasonable physical effects of its own

I have recently been watching

Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows - certainly impressed my good self by being better than the 1st movie, a rolicking good time though might be classed as infinitely forgettable overall

The Girl with the dragon tattoo - as good as the original in a different way. The scenes that are suppose to be shocking are, Daniel Craig plays Mickel Blomkivsit (?) perfectly for me & Rooney Mara is eerily good as Lisbeth Salander. It is an american remake but does enough for me to make it a good version of the book

Great film. I alway get GAS for a 50s Esquire whenever I watch it!
I think I hate being indecisive.
