I think I must've been about 17 when I tried to watch it as well.. maybe at the grand age of almost 21 I'll get it now.

Then I'm sure you'll get it now :D

I started watching Zoolander last night. I got about 15 mins in before switching off. Have I had a sense of humour bypass or is it really that bad?

i enjoyed it when i saw it. Not the best comedy ever, not by a long shot, but decent. However, I did see it quite a while ago, before every comedy film released after it starring ben stiller and will ferrell (so every comedy film, then) was the exact same, so that might have clouded your judgement somewhat, if you've seen a lot of more recent comdedies...

I HATE Zoolander/Ben Stiller. Thought it was bloody awful.

Yes Man - A lot better than I though it would be, not hugely funny but there are a few good jokes in it. It's typical American saccharin sweet lonely guy becomes happy after falling for quirky, off-the-wall girl. He blows it, then tries to convince her it's true love.

In The Loop - Just the big-screen version of The Thick Of It, if you like the TV show, you'll like this. It's clever and has some truly great swearing scenes but it didn't have that bigness of a movie for me.

The Damned United - Quality acting from the lead actors but I'm not sure this would appeal to anyone who doesn't like football or was already familiar with the story. Jumps around in time too much adding to the confusion. IIRC the books author has admitted he made much of it up.

Maybe everyone will disagree, but I don't think Ben Stiller is actually a very good actor.

He's fine when he's playing an "ordinary" guy (like in Meet The Parents or - God help me - Along Came Polly), but when it's a "wacky" role like Zoolander or the bloke in Dodgeball, I just think "it's Ben Stiller in a wig doing a silly voice".  It feels like he could fall out of character at any moment.

Changing the subject completely, I watched Blindness last night.  Interesting.

I haven't seen the whole movie, but I've seen enough. Not funny in my eyes.

Anyone who have seen Boy A? I think I've asked before, but no one replied so I'll give it another go  :D

And I don't find Ben Stiller that good an actor too. I saw Tropic Thunder a few months ago and I didn't find it that funny. I only found two characters funny and that was Robert Downey Jr. and especially Tom Cruise. What a great role. Terrific!!!

hey, i never said he was a good actor. a lot of the famous actors just play the same part over and over. in fact i think that's probably just what they're like in real life, and they got typecast.

For me Stiller falls into the same sort of category hat Jack White does. A lot of people seem to think that everything they do is brilliant and they can do no wrong. I totally disagree - although I do like a few White Stripes albums.

Zoolander is okay I guess. Will Ferrel is not much good in it, and I quite like a lot of his stuff.
I'm also not much of a fan of Stiller, but his performance was quite comical in Zoolander, it was just too stupid

I think The Raconteurs are much better than The White Stipes, Consolers of the Lonely has some great songs on it :)

It was The Dead Weather that I was mainly thinking of - and the bond theme, complete tosh IMO. I do like some of the Raconteurs stuff.

Saw a scifi horror thing called Pandorum.

I rather enjoyed it.
