Not the same here, I can't stand gross-out teen sex comedies.  They actually really piss me off because they seem to be set on another planet than the one I live on!

Having said that, I did like Superbad... I don't know exactly what makes it different from from Sex Drive, Road Trip, Role Models or American Pie Presents Band Camp, but it works for me and they don't.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I know what you mean but they can be funny if you see them as a load of bollocks. I just did a download of Sex Drive and it had loads of it chopped out. So I stopped watching it as i don't want to miss any riveting bits!

and the genre, well its not something that can be taken seriously.
American Pie got old after the first one, there can't be follow ups on these methinks.

AS much as I dislike the teen-grossout-comedy nonsense. At least it'll never be as bad as the Scary Movie/Epic Movie/X Movie etc pish.

I have just watched "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" on DVD. I'd read the book and knew what to expect but it was very painful to watch.

I've got that to watch but I don't want to see it as it'll be too disturbing.

Thanks Will! I'll look forward to that  :D

These movies were doing the rounds in the 70's and 80's too. Animal House, you have to see that. John Belushi, he was a nutter! Porkies, Kentuckie Fried Movie, ect
You just treat them like the silly things they are.

Just saw Watchmen, they couldn't have made a better adaptation, its almost identical to the comic in both story and style.

The only problem is the format just doesn't suit a Movie, the problem was always going to be the fact that the watchmen isn't a particularly interesting storyline, its all a big social commentary, and the irregular pace and seemingly random developments just don't particularly work in the movie, hell, its the main flaw of the book too. Everything about the Watchmen is perfect, except for the plot, if they could keep the style, the characters and the social dynamic the story represents, and just make a sensible plot which seems to actually develop, rather than spontaneously coming to a big finale out of nowhere.... But sigh, forget my ranting.

I loved the film anyway, although one thing I didn't like was the changes they made to the final scene, most of that wasn't really in the style of alan moore I thought, was a bit obvious. Didn't mind the things they took out, didn't change any of the important points of the story, (I might have missed some though I guess)

The more I think about Watchmen, the more the missing stuff annoys me.

Because of the changed ending, Bubastis isn't explained and surely loads of folks were thinking "what's this cat with antaenne?

Hollis Mason being beaten to death with his humanitarian award, which is a pretty vital part of the build up of tension in the public.

Virtually none of Dr. Manhattan's speech on Mars with his photo, which explains how he sees the world since his transformation.

LOADS of important Rorschach missed out, including "Possibly homosexual. Must investigate further.." and the like which go towards showing him to be complete and utter bastard, he get's off in the film pretty easy, I'd like to think this wasn't because of studio pressure to avoid having an overtly right wing "hero"...

I still think it was great. I'm just quite confused about why

Yeah, a long time ago when it first came out.  Can't remember much about it now, TBH.
