actually scarlett johansson being interested in bill murray probably does qualify as necrophilia...

EDIT: no faeces unless the fact it was shite counts.

I think in some ways I like Sympathy for Mr Vengeance best, in his more recent films Park Chan-wook maybe gets a little too self-indulgent.... but I'll watch all three again soon and see what I think this time round.

I've just had a look on Play.com and I can get all 3 films of the Trilogy for £5 each. Are they worth picking up then?
Selling lots of gear, enquire within!......

Definitely, IMO - but I can't guarantee you'll like them, of course!  :)

They're all very dark, in different ways, but there's a bit of black humour in there too.

I can't pretend to be any kind of an expert on Korean cinema - there's probably loads of good stuff that never even reaches the Western world.  But I've seen most of the films which get UK/US releases.  For a good place to start, IMO the directors to look out for are:

Park Chan-wook (JSA, Vengeance Trilogy, I'm a Cyborg, Thirst)
Kim Jee-woon (The Quiet Family, Tale of Two Sisters, A Bittersweet Life, The Good, the Bad, the Weird)
Bong Joon-ho (Memories of Murder, The Host, Mother)
Kim Ki-duk (The Isle, The Coast Guard, 3-Iron)

Kim Jee-woon and Bong Joon-ho are very diverse - between them they've done comedy, horror, mainstream action movies and serious drama.   Kim Ki-duk deals with more serious stuff and Park Chan-wook probably has the most distinctive style.

watched antitrust last night  Seen it before, it's a bit daft/over-the-top, and the references to microsoft are kinda bashing-you-over-the-head-obvious, but it was good fun.

plus any film with both claire forlani and rachel leigh cook are pretty much much win by definition...

EDIT: oh yeah I also watched murder at 1600, was also good fun. I'm a total sucker for thrillers, though.

I saw the A Team

Now, normally if someone told me you could float a 5 tonne shipping container with half a dozen air bags or fly a tank I'd tell you youre nuts

But the A team can.

Ok?

Hmmmm....so so.

See, the A Team to me was about these absurd characters doing absurd things.

It gets that and does that but I was really attached to the actors that were the characters as well - its one of those cases where they arent really exctricable.

So - face was good
BA was actually alright, I was surprised
Hannibal was rubbish, he didnt have the proper happy go lucky unconcernedness.
There was nothing terribly wrong with what merdoch did or said, but he just wasnt right.

Forgot to add to this thread a few days ago. I've now seen Scott Pilgrim vs the World. I loved it, Jane wasn't too sure.

And Ramona Flowers, I liked her rather a lot  :)
I think I hate being indecisive.

thanks. I agree about the attachment being to the old actors, too.

Just from the trailers, face seems wrong. he doesn't really seem like the right actor to be face... :?

I think the film can be a bit Marmite in  nature just because it's so different but everyone seems to agree on Ramona Flowers. :)

500 Days Of Summer. I hated it! It just drags and drags and isn't funny enough to be worthwhile. I still think that Zooey Deschanel is a terrible actress as well.
