Alice in Wonderland - Tim Burton's remake is visually rich but very disappointing in almost all other aspects of Filmmaking. I've no idea what he was trying to achieve with this very poor effort :(

^ I actually fell asleep in the cinema, which I never do.
On TV I'm really enjoying Mark Gatiss' history of horror.

I very often fall asleep in the cinema, I did it today in fact.

Not because the films are boring, but because I'm not very good at sitting still without nodding off.

I'm also really enjoying the Mark Gatiss series.  Nothing I didn't know already, but he's put it all together very well.  (I was a bit dismayed when John Carpenter called the Val Lewton films "overrated" in the first programme.  :( )

I've had my 3rd go with Asian cinema tonight and borrowed Old Boy from a guy at work.

I enjoyed it more than both Audition and Itchi The Killer to be honest, it had a great story and I really enjoyed it.

old boy is good  - awesome in fact.

it is one of those films that changes the meaning of words.  words like 'octopus' or 'hamer' never quite seem the same

Yep! I'd heard a little bit about the Octopus but wasn't expecting a full shot of it!

I really liked the twist/meaning behind it all, even though I had a feeling it may've been something along those lines.

I want to see the other 2 films in the trilogy now!  :D

I may change my name to Visitor Q....

Infernal Affairs is great, much better than Scorsese's overrated remake The Departed.

Law Abiding Citizen - Average (at best!) revenge thriller with poor acting and bizarre, illogical plot.

You're being very generous there, Ken!

That said, it was much better than that other recent execrable G. Butler effort, Gamer.

Kick-Ass - I must be the last geek on Earth to see it  Loved it, really fun movie with some excellent action sequences that's more than just another comic book adaptation. Oddly, it dumps all originality in the final act, becoming very conventional and (for me) unsatisfying. If you haven't see it, don't let that put you off. This is a very cool film.

I still haven't seen Kick Ass, really want to. Looks like my kind of film, style-wise.

As I've had no work in today, I have managed to watch pretty much the entire Weeds Season 3 in two sittings  It's so addictive and Nancy Botwin is lovely :D
