I'll watch anything with zombies in even if it's shitee
I even enjoyed 'Flight of the Living Dead'

I'm pretty sure I've seen that.... but I seem to have erased all memory of it from my mind.

Do you like old Italian zombie movies too?

Shutter Island - Good retro-thriller that has one of the most predictable plot twists ever. It's well above average in all areas, it's good to see this type of film being made. The performances are acceptable if cliché ridden, there's even one of those overhead shots of the main character screaming "No!". Definitely worth a watch but no classic.

Solomon Kane - Superior quality sword & sorcery film with a cracking cast who produce class performances. I though this film was excellent, though the last act was poor. Fun movie that doesn't pretend to be anything other than that. Some of the dialogue scenes between James Purefoy and Pete Postlethwaite showcase top drawer acting skill. I would have been happy to watch both of them on screen for much longer but this is an action movie. There is also some of the best sword fighting I've seen in a recent film, the action scenes are better done than most. Recommended for those who haven't seen.

Solomon Kane is great.  I was ready for disappointment, having grown up loving the books of Robert E Howard, but it has a terrific atmosphere.  I love the wintry look of the film and the way the supernatural elements are just "there", like they're part of everyday life.  :)

I hope they made enough money to do a sequel!

The Secret of Kells - This traditional 2D animated feature is an amazing visual feast. Unfortunately the incredible imagery overwhelms the rest of the film. The graphic design is derived from The Book of Kells (the 9th century illuminated manuscript) and is just wonderful. I also noted many style similarities with Samurai Jack a series I particularly enjoyed. The plot of Kells is too ambitious and seriously hole-tastic. It would have worked better with a simple story, also the dialogue is hopeless and cliché ridden. Don't let that put you off, this is a beautiful film.

Suck - I was keen to see this film due to the unusual cast (Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Malcolm McDowell, Moby, Henry Rollins, Alex Lifeson) and it is indeed an oddity. It's a musical comedy about a band trying-to-make-it and yes, there are Vampires. It's not too bad, in a modern day B-movie way. There's quite a few genre references for movie geeks and the plot continues at a good pace. Even though it's not a good film, I still quite enjoyed watching it  :?

Beatdown - ok so it was never going to be good but me and my mates tried to watch it for a laugh last night and couldn't get through it. Absolutely terrible editing - so many stock final cut "glow" filters, and generally awful cuts to close-ups and that sort of thing. It's like somebody had just discovered how to keyframe filters in FCP and wanted to use them on everything

Due to circumstances with the weather I've had the week to myself so over the last 3 nights I've sat and watched all 6 Rocky films

I'd never seen 1, 2 or 3 all the way through and had never seen any of 6 so thought I'd take advantage of the time alone.

After watching Legion the other week, I added some "apocalyptic" films to my rental list... and LoveFilm promptly sent them all at once.  :?

The Seventh Sign  Hadn't seen this since it first came out in 1988 - and it's held up very well.  Who'd have thought, a horror movie which relies on plot and atmosphere, with nary a special effect or cheap shock to be seen (it could actually do with just one or two cheap shocks, to be honest).  I'd completely forgotten Demi Moore was once a halfway decent actress.

Gabriel  More gun-toting angels.... if you combine this and The Seventh Sign you pretty much have everything in Legion which wasn't nicked from Assault On Precinct 13.  Apart from a few good moments I found this almost unwatchable.  Horrible cheap-looking sets and visuals, ugly people, badly written, badly directed, badly acted.  The whole thing looks and sounds exactly like one of those animated intro sequences in a computer game.

I still have The Prophecy to watch.

Toy Story 3 - Film making of the highest quality, it's not without flaws but those can be forgiven. Another in a long list of Pixar classics.
