I've just watched Monsters.  I really liked it.  And was extra impressed considering it was shot on a $500,00 budget & most of the scenes ad-libbed on location with locals as extras.

Yeah, in a way I admired the achievement more than I enjoyed the film.  But it's good!
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

The only thing I liked about Monsters was the lead female, she was very nice :)

Just got back from seeing Source Code. It was good but I got confused at the ending! Need somebody to explain it to me - I've had a long day and my brain doesn't seem to be working properly

i would, but dont want to add too many spoilers - tbh i think its pretty straight forward and not open for debate the way something like inception was.  But if it had ended when they were standing in front of the big shiny thing it would have been open to obvious afterlife interpretations.  pretty glad it didnt do that

After reading some explanations it makes sense now!

The guy who did all the music for the film is cally Chris P. Bacon  I hope that's a real name.

Over the last week I've watched the 1st series of Outcasts that I'd recorded. It was a bit slow at times, but I quite enjoyed it. Only thing is, the recording stopped a few minutes before the end of the last episode, so I don't actually know how it ended  :?

As for films I've watched a few different 1's tonight; A Serbian Film and Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Both are pretty much polar opposites of each other. A Serbian Film is alot more serious and extreme whereas Resident Evil is pretty much another run of the action film. A Serbian Film left me in a very down and sombre mood due to some of it's content, you'll know what I mean if you've seen it, so used Resident Evil just as something to watch that didn't require any thought

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I - Quite grim for a kids film, well shot with good production values but it's still only above average. For me the best bit of the film was the animated sequence telling the tale of the three brothers.

I disagree about Outcasts, for me it was a total car-wreck! One of the worst sci-fi dramas I've ever seen. However, I think Battlestar Galactica has pushed the standard for the genre so high that anything else even vaguely similar will look pale in comparison.

I got Deathly Hallows from Morissons yesterday for 6quid, so I'll get around to watching that at somepoint. Althought I may have to rewatch Order of the Phoenix and Halfblood Prince as haven't seen them in ages and can't remember much about them.

Oh, I wasn't saying that Outcasts was great TV, just that I thought it was ok  I've never seen Battlestar Galactica, so could explain why I thought it was ok.

In that case I highly recommend Battlestar Galactica though its not for everyone. Quite slow at times, very 'political' (often called 'West Wing in Space') and IMO the ending was rubbish. But it's got to be 1 of the top 5 all-time TV shows - a classic.

I know what you mean with the Harry Potter films, I can never recall what happened in the previous film! I think they just aren't 'memorable' enough, far too run-of-the-mill.

BSG was absolutely tremendous, yeah. Suffers like many brilliant sci-fi shows because some people will think "spaceships...not for me" but the fact it is in space or that there are robots is kinda irrelevant to almost all of the storyline.

Really it's simply a political/military drama. But a really, really good one.

I liked the ending too, as it goes, but can see why many don't.

For me the important thing about Battlestar is that if you wanted to make a TV show full of Politics, Religion and Philosophy; there would be zero chance of it getting commissioned. The fact they found backers, it wasn't watered-down, it was a 'hit' and its a Classic are just so unusual.

Beyond the Pole - Low budget British mocumentary following two men as they try to be the first carbon-neutral expedition to the Pole. It's likeable/amusing rather than laugh-out-loud funny but is good (-ish), gets better (and darker) as the film proceeds.

I know a fair few people that love it, I've just never seen it myself.

I'll try and keep my eye open for DVDs etc.

Battle: Los Angeles. I saw the trailer and thought it might be kind of interesting but it was absolutely shitee, didn't even finish watching it!

Entourage - I'm actually addicted to this programme, can't stop watching! On Season 6 already

Big double thumbs up for Battlestar Galactica from me. I don't normally go for sci-fi stuff but this is great TV. Definitely worth losing some of your life for.
I think I hate being indecisive.

The Defenders? Never heard of it. The laughing emoticon leaves unconvinced as to your sincerity...

Been battering through Mad Men recently, top stuff. And Game of Thrones begins tonight that I've been looking forward to.
