Brave - I thought it was awesome! Nothing about it I didn't like. Going to see Skyfall tonight as well :)

Skyfall was about on a par with his first two. Not better or worse. Good, but not 'the best ever' as the hype machine would have you believe.

Coraline - I know I'm way behind the times but I finally got round to watching this (in 2D).  Beautiful animation but I wish the story was a little darker (I know it is primarily aimed at kids!)

The Fields - A horror movie (of sorts) which doesn't entirely work but does attempt to do something a bit different from the norm.  Not bad.  Casting Tara Reid in a serious role was a big mistake, maybe they thought it would help sell the film (although does she actually have a fanbase?).

Kill Zombie! - As an example of "World Zombie Cinema", this Dutch zombie comedy is pretty good... but not as good as the Cuban zombie comedy Juan of the Dead.

I think all the Daniel Craig Bonds have been overhyped.  Casino Royale was pretty good (and surprisingly faithful to the book) but a bit dull at times.  And Quantum of Solace was just dreadful.  I have yet to see Skyfall, I'll probably wait and rent the Blu-ray.

I'm not a fan of Bond's "New direction". The silliness was part of it's charm.
It wasn't a mistake, it was chromaticism, I swear.

Watch 9 (not the chorus line one) if you want a darker tale. Not really sure this one was targetted at kids unless it was to scare the shite out of them. Loved it.

Yes, 9 is a great film. I think it was mentioned on here sometime back when Tom (I think) was looking into animation. The thing that got me with 9 was the animation - utterly beautiful but also with a good story. It did leave me feeling a bit empty at times though. Recommended.
I think I hate being indecisive.

+1

they talk about how it's "more realistic".

(A) it's not

(B) the dalton ones (which i think are awesome) were also more realistic and were slagged off for it

I have to say I really didn't like either of the Timothy Dalton films.  But I do think he could've been a good Bond if he'd made a few more, with the right scripts and directors.

(Thanks guys, just added 9 to my Lovefilm list!)

I also thought Dalton made a good Bond. Just unfortunately had bad stories/directors. Still like License to Kill though.

The Dalton films seem to be lacking in "Britishness", somehow, they have a different atmosphere from all other Bond films.

Connery had most of the best films, but he should never have come back for Diamonds Are Forever - he looks about 500 years old and his hairpiece looks like it came off a shop window dummy.

In some ways Roger Moore is my favourite Bond, I like that self-deprecating humour he had (and seems to have in real life), but some of his films are really weak.  I do really like For Your Eyes Only, that's one of the best of the lot I think.

One of the best bond films IMO is OHMSS /controversial

Just has the best plot, proper weight to it. Ripe for a remake with the new serious Bond.

I liked Skyfall. Best bond ever? Probably not but i did really enjoy it a lot more than most of the old cheesy ones. I reckon Daniel Craig is a good bond as well. I wish trailers would stop showing every cool bit in a film though, I'm gonna have to stop watching them!

I've stopped watching them where possible to be honest.

I'd not seen anything of Skyfall before I went to watch it. I did like it as a film, just not as groundbreaking as some were making it out to be imo.
