I just think it's idiotic to say that all hip hop is about who has the biggest gun, most bitches, fastest car and snazziest house.

As far as I can tell, Johnny doesn't really care about the lyrical content/what the songs are about, and he's said that several times. You're barking up the wrong tree really.

I don't think in chain gangs they sung about killing their bitches and hoes with their huge mudda fukkin gun and then banging everyone because they have got the biggest rim of them all.

I see you've done a fair bit of research into the genre then

Sums it up in my book. Pile of shitee

Perhaps you would be happier in a rap forum!

I'm not daft for totally shunning this poxy noise without seeing if there are any little gems that I will love. That's because I'm 100% confidant in my judgment regarding my own musical likes and dislikes and I know that I won't like any of it. Apart from the most obvious cliches it's fraught with plagiarism and lacks any kind of musicianship that doesn't involve using a mouse. Real music made by bands is my usual thing and they span many genres. Perhaps its and age thing, when you get a bit older you don't really care if your not debating something like a student in the union. There's better things to be getting on with.
Lets call time on this before the thread grows a beard and dies of boredom

See what you've done Will!!

Have a good weekend. :D  :D

I will leave at this yes, but because you evidentally are completely incapable of understanding my point, having ignored it and answered someone elses in every post reply you've made to me

Just to try and be clear, it had NOTHING TO DO WITH LIKING OR DISLIKING THE GENRE. At all. Not one jot. Ok?

Now, the weekend indeed, I have a braw one lined up  :)

Personally I like my music driven by guitar........

Means I like a lot of stuff from pop to folk, rock, blues, punk, metal, ska etc
I just like what I like and don't like what i don't like.

I guess I got tired that the mainstream media shunned rock during the 90s and basically said that unless music was hip hop or had hip hop in it - it wasnt gonna be getting any press or airplay. This was very true of things like Radio 1 etc.

It has been my great pleasure that Planet Rock has done so well playing rock music to the masses, and likewise with Xfm and Kerrang in bringing indie and  metal.

Jay Z did seem an odd choice to headline Glastonbury as it was at odds with so much of Glastonbury's other acts.

But if he went down well - then all well and good.

I'm all for diversity - but I'm mainly for guitars
