Obvious choice would be a Marshall, wouldn't it?

Or what about a Bogner XTC?

Personally I am no big fan of Riveras (once owned a Knucklehead), but would take one over a Krank.

I'll have to back Jonny up here with a nod towards the Koch. I only have the Koch Studiotone, which is only
18-20 watts but is has a unique sound. However, I still like my 65 Amps London 18 , which has a Marshall sounding side and a AC30 sounding side: Rock versatile but not brutal.

its funny because down and mastodon use jcm800 and jcm900's.

Bloodmountain however was done with mesas.

For remission, lifesblood and leviathan, it was just a tubescreamer into a jcm800. Thats IT.

It was too tight and harsh in the high frequencies. I kept getting buzzing ears after rehearsal, but had the feeling I hadn't heard myself well while playing.

It's just in the face, not in the chest/stomach, as I prefer...
