Black Machines are some of the most impressive guitars I've played for heavy music, my friend owns two and another friend of mine owns three.. I've played two of these guitars and I had the money to buy one but I choose not to because the appearance doesn't do it for me especially if im playing in a jazz quartet on an evening or if im playing in a soul/funk band on the weekend.
anyway more to the point, if you'd done your homework read into PRS and understood why they use low mass tuners for more sustain, use the none friction nut, the perfect headstock angle, the neck heel joint is designed for maximum sustain, the solid one piece mahogany back, the way the trem systems side holds the saddles still for no movement when using the trem etc.. etc..
Do your homework these guitars are built like a $%ing tank, they sound fantastic and ARE worth the cash, I paid £750 for my PRS but i'd gladly have paid the full £2599 RRP for a guitar of this quality, I work in a guitar shop and I worked in another before this that deals with some of the most expensive guitars money can buy from 58 and 59 les pauls to tylers, andersons and suhrs. I've owned a Schecter Tom Anderson Era Strat, I've owned Custom Shop Strats, Vintage Les Pauls and everything else you can mention to boot.
I've played the lot, and im still taken by PRS and it's versitility and trans-genre respect and down right amazing engineering and stunning tone, if you think they're shite it's your loss 8)
