btw: how can you change the tone knob into a volume knob?

Erm. I think its easier than you think, just get a normal tone pot and replace the volume pot.

Err? pots were pots, they are either linear or log but they do the same thing, it's just the way they are wired in, or am I completely wrong?

for mahogany, I'd say Painkiller or Cold Sweat
but... alder + maple + engl + vht = dry tightness
so I think a Holy Diver or Nailbomb will balance better
the Painkiller is already too "djenty" (or "tchank tchank", like my friend says )
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

sorry that none of my comments are much use, but i wanted to comment on Iced dragon's guitar. very, very nice. did it come like that or is that a custom paint job? looks like it could use a quick wipe down though. gotta keep a guitar like that nice and clean.

which colour did you choose for your RR1?

;)

Note that the amp is not the E570 (SE pre-amp)

yeaaaaaaaaaa i have the $%&#ing same one!!!
and the same 4x12 Engl v30 - your equipment is godlike!!!!
i've a g-major too- for what do you use it?
if you use the eq would you mind posting your settings?

@CJ: trash is imo the best metaltype!
the old metallica albums like kill them all, and master of puppets - Slayer - Overkill - Megadeth are all trash metal bands....everyone knows that- or are you just kidding?

It's just a simple rewire, might need one of the pots replacing (though I think Jackson use 500k pots for their Tones so perhaps not)
From this to this

PS: Sorry to link to Duncans :) too lazy to search for a "neutral" diagram...

Question though, Antag. What would be the result of the new pot wiring?
Two volumes allow you to roll-off the neck volume, then use the switch to quickly cut in/out a held note like James Hetfield does in his "To Live is to Die" solo, or Randy Rhoads does in his solo spot on the Tribute live album (& probably 100s of Les Paul users have done over the years, but I can't think of any off the top of my head... :))

oh how i love this part...i guess it isnt the best thing you can do to your guitar but who cares!!!
Yeah, that's what I meant.  It's not something I'd do often (if at all?) but I guess I could also use it as a quick'n'easy "mute".  Either way, it would be more useful than 2 Tone pots that just sit there on 10...

i always thought there isnt any difference between the RR1 and the RR1T....are there any?
The only difference is the bridge/nut - the RR1 has a Floyd & locking nut, the RR1T has a Tuneomatic/graphite nut.

Here's mine:

I love the "T" models of anything of Jacksons, i.e. string-thru

the Painkiller is already too "djenty" (or "tchank tchank", like my friend says )

Well, originally I was going to put a Nailbomb in it, but Tim also advised either a  Painkiller (for the chugachuga sound  :P) or CS bridge.
As I find Engl to already provide a lot of mids, I feared for too much of them and a lack of tightness when using a NB. So I went for a Painkiller. If it doesn't work out, I have just gotten myself a CS-set before opting for the NB.
Blame it on Tim I'd say

Btw, not that it'll make a lot of difference, but my RR is poplar  ;)

@Nikita: the style is tHrash metal (as in 'to beat one up' or something ;)), not trash (garbage), but that's a matter of taste ;)
And I don't use the EQ of my G-Major ... I'll need to experiment with it, I know, but in 6 months I'm graduating and then I'm really going to try everything.

@CJ: that's the LTG finish one can opt for, it's not custom at all. But though I say it myself, it's (one of) the best done LTGs I've ever seen. And yeah, it could have used a wipe, but it's meant to be used ;). I'll give it a good rub before taking pics with the BKPs installed

cheers

Yeah, there are couple of guitars I'd like to own, and one of them is a floyd-less Jackson Warrior. *sigh*

yeah thats what i was saying. i've seen countless people call 'thrash' metal 'trash' metal. but they appear like they like the music, so i can never tell if they're making fun of the genre or they simply think its actually called 'trash'. just wondering.
