Listen up guys:

IT'S A PROPER OLD JB FROM THE MID-80s WOUND BY MARCIELA JUAREZ

Sheesh - are you guys deaf or something??????

;)

Speak up - we're not as young as we used to be

Hey Jonathan, the JB in this Kramer is old enough to one of the original spec hand wound ones, I wonder if its still original?

Duncan humbuckers are never hand wound and have never been - discussed that with Seymour himself.
Says he wasn't about to handwind when Gibson etc never did.

I remember Jay Pepper from Tigertailz playing one just like this circa 1986/7
May have been the less pointy headstock version though.
I also remember other bands like SHY and Tobruk using them in that era too

I remember Steve Harris from Shy using one of those strange pointy-bodied Westones, then a Fernandes sharkfin type, didn't know they'd ever moved on to Kramers.

They were a great band for a while back then.  I think they're still going, too.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

The old JB's are 14.7k with offset coils.  The current spec is 16.4K.  The sound is really different and very like a BK Holydiver.  Leave it alone as you won't really improve on it.
So many pickups, so little time

Yes - first album had the Westone
Second album he had white Les Paul and Kramer
Third album added the Fernandes Steeler Randy Rhoads type

My mate Nick has the Kramer body now and I had the neck but parted company a few years back
I cringe now as it was a slab (not tiltback) headstock

Here it is in it's heyday

14k sounds like a lot on paper, this thing sounds and feels like it's half that. I'll do a clip to show. Yeah I think it's a pretty heavy body Dave, I'm used to lightweight guits though.

I stand corrected!  :D

I've got an old Chandler (USA) neck similar to that, with the slab headstock and an ebony board.  One of my few dabbles in the world of the superstrat!

Blimey, Tony Mills sounds terrible on that clip!  I don't remember him being that bad.
