Missed this earlier - I popped into the thread at lunch time, but never got a chance to read it...

We'll be thinking of you and the missus :D

I've had general anaesthetic a few times, I don't think there's much risk to a young, healthy person.  It'll literally be over before she knows it. :)

It's actually quite good fun waking up - you feel like you're coming round quite quickly, but when you think about it afterwards you realise you can't really remember it properly at all.  Like a waking dream.

My experience is saying "all right, it's ok" and then opening the eyes more than 3 hours late, they used a bucked of anaesthesic as I'm the size of a Rhino  The reason why I was saying alright, fat people is harder to hit the nerve to give the local anesthesic... But no big deal to me...

Everything is going to be alright, the better thing you can do is trust on the doctor and try to keep calm (or look)... The worst thing ever is everybody nervous when you're going to be cut, so keep it cool for your Mrs :D

Everything is gonna be alright, but I'm thinking on you and your Mrs! :)

Don't worry Dave, I am sure she will be fine. I have had 2 general anesthetics and that was the more enjoyable part for me. Like Philly says, it is an unusual experience but I viewed it with a sense of humour. In my case I had some morphine and that was very pleasant and I know I shouldn't say that but it was ( and believe me I have had a nightmare experience with one of my sons with drugs so I am the last to make light of it).Best wishes to Mrs Twinfan Dave.

Hey Dave, best wishes to your better half and hoping that all goes well. Don't get too stressed either, that's not going to calm Mrs. TF down at all. All the best mate.

Cheers folks  :D

She's all installed in her side room with Freeview  :o  And that's the NHS too, not private!

Op at 9:30am tomorrow, should know how everything is around lunchtime  :)

my brother has had a few ops, never had one myself.. and would definitely be worried if miss gwem would be going in for something. i'm sure it won't be necessary - but my good luck wishes too!

Cheers Derek!  I'm off to a meeting shortly, which may or may not help to pass the time, then I'll be ringing the ward to see how she is...

Excellent !  :D

Tonight's 'visiting' will no doubt be a somewhat profound experience .  It's nice to be reminded sometimes, what really matters in this life. :)

You're so right there. Last Monday I got called to my GF's work to pick her up as she was unwell. By the time I got there she was being taken to the Ambulance due to anaphylactic shock. Thankfully all is well now and her flat, my car and her work are WELL stocked with Epi-Pens, was a scary experience though.

Dave. Hope all is well with the Missus!!
