Its payday and i have my last thoughts before ordering.
Its for my gibson flying V which has become my main guitar for most of the music i do.
I play grindcore, swedish old school death metal and converge'ish stuff sometimes.
I tune to C# - Drop B with everly 12-60 strings
Gear is use is: Boss Hm-2(japan), everything set to max except gain which i have on 1. So its kind of a booster.
I dont use it in everything, but i use it pretty much.
Head: Line 6 Spider Valve head W/ 2 12ax7's & 4 6L6's. - On the lookout for a Peavey 6505.
Cab: Mesa Rectifier 4x12 oversized.
So what im really after is a pickup which can cut through the immense wall of grind that the hm-2 makes. But still it shall be gainy enough to be able to play fast(230 bpm+) without i have to struggle to downpick every note equally hard. i noticed that i usually boost these frequencies 1,4 kHz & 85 hz. So i guess i want something with both a boost in upper and lower mids. I've been over all the spectrum recently, and im still in doubt. I've not had the money for a new pickup in a long time, so thats why i have been boggling this much over this issue :P
