New Aged Pre-Wired Pickguard (Scratchplate) Day!

This arrived from BKP yesterday morning.

Anyone experiencing a touch of deja vu at this point may remember Nolly's thread about his Custom Shop Relic Strat:

https://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=25139.0

In my defence, I'm not a total copycat - it was always going to be aged cream on tortoise, and I was 95% decided on HSS rather than SSS.  But Nolly's thread certainly made me decide on a complete pre-wired setup from BKP (rather than buying separate bits), and also helped with the choice of pickups - I was going back and forth between some combination of Crawler, VHII, Abraxas, Mother's Milks, Irish Tours or Slow Hands.  Crawler was favourite for a long time, but in the end I've gone for.... Abraxas and a pair of Slow Hands.

I wasn't sure about pot values - I was thinking about 250k rather than 500k because I really didn't want the single-coils too bright/harsh, or maybe 500k volume and 250k tones, but Tim suggested 300k for all three pots, which seemed a good compromise.  The cap is a Jensen/BKP 0.022.  Wiring is the "standard" HSS setup with a RW/RP middle pickup and the humbucker split in position 2.

It all looks great - excellent relic work all round and super-neat wiring.   :D

Now I suppose I need to get the thing put together at last....  :|

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

That looks great Philly! What section of your bed is it going under?  :D
I think I hate being indecisive.

It's going in the section where I keep the bits for my relic hardtail Strat project  :P :

That looks like a great body Philly - are you going to rout it out yourself?

congrats, i'm sure it'll serve you well. when i got my IT pre wired i was equally impressed with the wiring and by the time i would have sourced all the bits i don't even think it was more expensive.
even if i sold the guitar the IT board would stay with the old one going back in hassle free and untouched.

Yeah, if I'd bought the same set of BKP pickups, pots, switch etc, plus a scratchplate and plastic parts (probably from Fatboy Guitars), I reckon the total cost would have been at least as much, maybe more.  It seemed like a no-brainer!  :D

Yep.  I have a trusty humbucker routing template I made years ago, should do the trick!  I had to wait to actually get the scratchplate because the position of the humbucker varies quite a lot between different manufacturers.

It's a Fender neck with a rosewood board.  A certain Mr Venables has done a very nice relic job on it for me.  :)

I'm going for a mid-'60s pre-CBS look, but not trying to get all the details slavishly correct (for example my neck has a slab board when it should really be veneer to be period-accurate!)

I must admit I have, in this case.

In fact I have a few more bits than I need, because I wasn't happy with some of the "relic" parts I bought - sometimes they're a bit over-done.
