I'd probably still go the self-build route, though, because that way you can pick a body of just the right weight.  Off the shelf Fenders are too hit-or-miss.

That was the argument for me. I know I can't build one for what I paid for this. It was sort of an instinctual purchase.  No way they can continue to offer something this good specs and quality for this price for very long. $590.00 US delivered. And they got the specs all wrong on the website. Its 22 not 21, it's a fat U and a wide nut. Can't imagine the Mexican ones will continue to be this good once the US models are introduced. I'm guessing MSRP $1299.00 US

Well, over $1000.00 US at Warmoth to buy all the parts. Just priced it all out.

I've now had two of these come through my shop for a punter. One he ordered then a replacement as the first was poor. The second was the same.

The bridge pickup isn't F-spaced, but the bridge is, and the necks were both misaligned. High E popping off the fretboard all the time. Really disappointing.
