(a) Cheers Ian, it's nice to see I'm not rubbing folk up the wrong way. I did wonder whether to say what I was buying here on the forum or not, but decided enough folks had met me to know that I'm not some doctor or lawyer with a trophy in need of displaying ;)
(b) I'm very aware that I'm in a fortunate financial position right now. I can guarantee that won't always be the case, and not having kids certainly helps with the disposable income thing.
(a) I don't care what you buy (I don't mean that in an uncaring, "I don't give a shiteee about you" kind of way, I mean it doesn't annoy me). if you like it and can afford it, go for it.
I would say, though, that it doesn't much matter to me if lawyers or doctors have good guitars either- are they not allowed to rock out?
regarding the guitar- i'm sure it's killer, it definitely looks badass.
(b) that's a good point. I have a lot of respect for people who get married and/or have kids, and i realise and appreciate that they have a lot more important demands on their money than I do. But at the same time, if they start acting like I'm awful for buying these things, a swift, "No-one forced you to get married and/or have kids" comeback will be forthcoming
it was the same at school or university- (some) people acted like i was awful for having nice things. Now, I'm well aware i was probably handed money more easily than them too (though plenty of their parents were just as rich as mine, if not richer), but they wanted to be able to afford to go drinking every weekend while I didn't. I have no problem what you spend your money on (within reason... obviously contract killers are probably not the most ideal things to spend your money on), but if you choose to spend it on A, don't act like I'm awful if I can afford B if I don't spend it on A.
wow that sounds like more of a rant than it was meant to be. Basically i came in to say, "Nice guitar"
