Yep, I know you'd take the ME mate.

You'd have to fight Ian Price for it though I think  ;)

Fight to the death. I've got no money so perhaps we could run some sort of BKP betting syndicate and you could get a cut of the takings as payment for the guitar.

Seriously - the ME is the only humbucker equipped guitar that I have ever liked straight off bat (or neck). It was like sex (sort of)
I think I hate being indecisive.

CC #6 is cool, but I'd have Sandy.  That's a gorgeous faded LP.

PQ  - that Sonic Blue is simply porn for the more discerning guitar player (i.e. me) - And it would fit my matching headstock surf green and fiesta red strats and my matching headstock seafoam green Jaguar as well (actually aside from GAS desire, writing that sentence has confirmed to me that I do not need any more guitars - so well done )
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

Always glad to help, Elliot.  :D

Although I think this thread is giving me chronic GAS just when I thought I was in remission (not for a Private Stock PRS, I hasten to add!  )

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

Wow, I'd have saved a lot of money over the years if only I'd felt like that!

It is true that some instantly feel more "right" than others, I must admit.  But they don't always end up as keepers, and there are others which sort of creep into your affections slowly (....like that girl with glasses who sat quietly in class and you never even really noticed her for years, then suddenly.....)

This is very true.  I was a bit disappointed with my PS Sig with trem when I first got it.  The colour was much darker than the pics alluded to, I found the trem a bit sensitive and the final finishing wasn't as good as my PS Sig hardtail (pickup ring screws were a bit loose, pickup heights not ideal etc).

However, after going over it and giving it my usual full setup and check over tweaks it turned out OK.  Not fantastic, but pretty good.  Then I gigged it, dropped it, thrashed it, Tremol-No'd it and generally played the snot out of it and now it feels as comfy to me as my Modern Eagle does and the tone has opened really nicely - notes "bloom" really easily, and the guitar sings.  If I don't use it for gigs or rehearsals I really miss it.

I'm still not fully sold on the quilt top or colour though

You have to choose the colour carefully, but I do think strats with colour coded headstocks can (in the right circumstances) look quite nice.

As far as I am concerned, coloured headstocks are the right way for all the custom colours - surf greens, fiesta red, Daphne blue, burgundy mist, etc all look great.  Obviously not for sunburst, white or that toffee colour (desert sand?) but black is ok.

Do you think there's any way that we can help them?

I don't think gwEm, for example, is past saving yet:

He doesn't sound completely convinced...

And, he is, of course, entirely correct... a carefully colour-coordinated headstock would probably look quite nice under Philly's bed, for example...

Good God man, you're a genius! Solving two of the greatest unexplainable maladies of this board.

A neck exchange, owners of coloured headstocks can swap their neck for one of the Philly's collection.

Philly's happy and these unsightly abominations are keep out of sight for the foreseeable future!

So people following "rock ideals" do play expensive guitars.  Just not ones which look obviously expensive.  Is that PRS' true crime?

No, this is PRS' true crime:
