PU for a Jackson KV2

Hi there. Im considering to load my third jackson (kv2) with one or two new PU. I have a Jackson Sl1 loaded with MM and a Jackson SL2H loaded with c-bomb and CS. I play metal, thrash and so on and tuning my guitar in C or B. Would the Juggernaut be my next PU or what is you input.

The guitar have a maple neck-thru-body.

Well, this is not my area of expertise, but the Juggernaut certainly fits very well in that family. Same world as the other two PUs, but they all do things differently.

I've found the Juggs to be a bit hollow in the mids in every sample in internet. I guess it depends on the guitar, but it's a deal breaker for me.

Don't worry, they're the opposite of hollow in the mids.

Well the AM is great too. It is a very dry pickup with a surgical response. Very big on the center mids where the grind comes from, with a punchy but not super deep bottom end (which goes extremly well with dropped tunings), and a cutting agressive high end. However since the center mids are kinda the focus point of the voicing they do not go well in center mid heavy and LP scaled guitars imho. Both darker and dropped brighter guitars for example do very well though, especially if they have an extended scale.

You want an agressive, grinding, dry, surgical, up front, this-is-cyborg-Jason-Vorhees-on-cocain-and-he-is-pissed kinda tone the AM is a good option. The Juggernaut would be a bit more Michael Meyers in comparison. Perhaps. I am not sure where I am going with this. It is nearly Halloween though.

If you are tuning that low and want to maintain excellent clarity I would definitely go for the Aftermath. The only time I have liked the AM is when I was tuned in C or lower. They rule in that department. Mean, tight, not to crisp and above all maintain the CLARITY!

but for the OP, i have a C-pig in my jackson pro series king v (maple neck thru, alder wings, drop A tuning) and it rips. DEEP low end, but not muddy..chainsaw midrange grind, really aggressive, tame high end, nice bite to it. I love this pickup, but the only thing that i don't like about it that was hard to get used to (as I've also noticed with the painkiller) is that it feels "harder" to play…like you have to physically play/pick harder to get the sound/feels on it. not sure if that makes sense lol.
but it definitely made my king v roar

I wouldn't have imagined a Jackson KV2 (alder or basswood, neckthru) to be a particular fussy guitar for a high gain pickup. The Juggernaut is an excellent metal pickup, the only problem I see is that it is possibly not too different from the ceramic Nailbomb you already have.

If anything that should make you want to get an AM, so you learn to play tighter and better. Its a great pick up

It really is a thing with most BKPs and some, like the AM or RY especially, that they make you better players. They sound amazing and better than "the others" even if you play badly, like I do, but they right away let you know that if you step up your game they can be so much more. If tough love works it is this way. They let you know when you f*ck up, but they constantly let you know about the things you do right.

BKPs don´t punish you for being wrong as much as they let you know when you are right.

It takes a moment, but mother of ***** is it worth it.

What is the bit different between these and will someof them fit the Jackson KV2 better than other?
