Currently on 'Spotify' - listening to Barabra Streisand , Chet Baker (Trio ) and Tony Bennett's versions of " My Funny Valentine"  whilst I work on arranging it for solo guitar.

Versions that make you forget to breathe whilst listening ; and remind you to slow down - and make it your own .

Sublime.  8)

Excellent album.  Was listening to Closing Time in the motor the other day
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

Currently on 'Spotify'

What's the crack with Spotify?  How do I get an invite?  I've got myself a laptop now which means I don't have to use the works one, so I'm after getting this.  Naturally I'm a tight git and don't want to pay.

Join the club mate   - for as much as it was recommended to me , I wanted the free version or not at all.  I just had to go to the site and ask to join the so called "Queue for free invitation" - a few months ago ; and eventually I got the 'welcome aboard' invite.  I did not like the way they employ this this cheap marketing trick of creating an illusory ( and probably automatically pre- timed)  'Queue' -  but as I did not crack under the strain of waiting ( as if ... ) all's well that ends well.

The chap that was so insistent I would find great research / leisure value from it, is a  Keyboard  player who also  teaches Music Technology / Studio craft - and so for him £ 10 a month for the Professional version , is small change.

As cynical as I was about it's usefulness ( having not really understood what it was / looked like - till I was allowed access )  it is proving very valuable inspiration for my novice chord melody arranging - and of course proving a great way to discover some great artists and albums; , along with free nostalgia , esoteric JukeBox - and 'Try before you buy' facility.  :)

most selective online music library / Juke Box I have ever had !  :)

Heavens Basement were great last night, only problem being that the sound guy wasn't on the ball and so the vocals were too quiet :( The band touring with them (Dear Superstar) were utter shitee though and did possibly the worst cover of Lola I've ever heard.

Oh and I have JCM800 gas again, sounded immense. And now I want to be in a decent band.

Hasn't the singer now walked out on them?

Been on a Train Discography kick at the moment. Severely under-rated rock/pop band.
