Allright, I love them all 3 equally, really do, they are different beasts but
-all of them have 2 HBs
-two have BKPs
-all recorded with identical settings on a Tonelab.

I will resolve later, but want your ears to decide first, so please

1. Listen to all three
2. vote

I am really curious on the votes !!

They all ruled, but when guitar 2 got boosted or whatever you did it really stood out to me.

Gotta be guitar 2.  The other two are two muffled and mushy, especially on the neck pickups.

I reckon guitar 2 is the Epi Les Paul with Black Dogs.

:D It`s very difficult to tell, your playing lead lines which can be very deceptive. You should play rythm parts as it helps to distinguish the P/U`s more clearly.

For my money guitar 1 is loaded with OTHER brand pups.

2 & 3 sounded a lot clearer so my guess is there both the BK loaded guitars.

Tricky, I was going to say #2 was RY but 3# is brighter so maybe that is? But it's also quite pagey so maybe thats the Black Dogs. Hmmm... I wouldn't go for #1 (I hope thats not a BKP clip :D )

number 1 is not a BNP (I hope) the other 2 are BNPS and guitar 2 is the best tone! to my ears.

It would have been easier to play a simple 16 bar chord progression though as it's easier to listen to tone when playing slower, my brain prefers it.

Now here's the deal:

#1: Epiphone Les Paul with Black Dogs
#2: PRS SE Singlecut Stock Pickups
#3: MM Axis with RebelYells

...
...

Maybe the Epi doesn't go so well with that kind of sound or it needs new strings ... but I'd have to say (and that won't change me being a huge BKP fan) the PRS korean stock pickups are damn fine.

A real test would have been all the pickups in the same guitar. :)
That PRS does sound good. How about putting a RY in it and seeing how that goes?

edit: out of curisoiry, what was the Tonelab setting? Did you make it using one of those guitars or did you use a preset?

Now THAT surprises me!  How does the PRS sound through the Shiva?  Too bright?

No the opposite - it's rather dark compared to the BKP equipped guitars. I have to raise Treble and Presence quite a bit but then it sounds very balanced and full bodied and still cuts through. There's just the bit of complexity missing which you get with Tim's scatterwound PUs.

Tim recommended Holy Diver or VHIIs, but I'm not so much into high output PUs - on the other hand, I might put the Epi's BlackDogs in the PRS and put some HDs in the Epi ... for that silly grin (as Tim called it:)

Thing is that the substance of the guitar is very good. It's acoustically very loud and defined and it sings already without being plugged into an amp - I'm quite amazed. It wasn't a good deal (at 830 EUR) and the top is not the nicest one (not very well bookmatched) but I was so convinced of the sound of this one that I didn't care about the deal, just had to have it.

I had tested US PRSs (CE22/24 and McCarthy) before and was underwhelmed, always found them lacking edge and character - might be I prefer Korean/Chinese guitars after all hahahaha ...

I think the fact that the body is thinner might be advantageous for the resonance of the instrument ...

Unfortunately this forum is for BKP pickups only due to the cost of bandwidth.
I'm afraid I have had to remove your non BKP clip as it would be unfair on others if I left it.
