£800 is totally steep for an RG550..

I've got an original one and it's mint.. and cost me £330..

Calum and Steves RG's are the only ones I've ever actually wanted :o They look so nice with maple fingerboards, and that cherryburst type thing looks amazing :D

My originals cost between £270 (for an '87 Road Flare Red 550) and £375 (for a Laser Blue 770DX).  £800 is steep, but you can't get an original Desert Yellow with matching headstock in the UK as they don't crop up for sale.  I don't NEED the new RFR too, but it seemed a shame not to have triplets

yes, £800 is alot of money thats why I'm importing. Getting mines fully shipped for a nice $900. You've gotta love the strength of the pound, almost half price comming in at £463.

Anyone got a confirmed date there out? All I can get it mid March  :(

Now.. all I need to get is a decent amp to run it through...

That's the date I've heard for the US.  June for the UK I believe.

£463 is a good price, and even with shipping/taxes/VAT added it comes in cheaper than the UK - I made it around £630 or so?  I'm using my local dealer as I go there a lot and I want to support them, plus it's easier to chase them if something goes wrong.

Doesn't mean I'm happy with the overpricing though  :(

I worked it to £557. £463 for the guitar and shipping, if the tax man gets me with the 20.5% import tax + handling added on its £557. That 20.5% is what my dad said it should be, then again he hasnt imported anything since the the early 90's and ive never done it before. It's a bit hit and miss but i should have enough cash stored away for whatever it comes to.

I support my local dealer store too, but they dont stock ibanez guitars, only the effects. I always choose my local store over the soundcontrol in my city. Costs me about a pound more for everything but the guys in there are great.

the over pricing for the UK is shocking. they should have charged the same amount for everyone, or at least as close as the could.
