Warning: unashamed 40-somethin' guy doin' blues, be warned! I've put in a few interesting bits though.
As in my 1st mp3, I've kept to the same amp setting throughout this...I wanted to show how Mules cope with NO amp manipulation at all: all variation done solely with coil-splits/tone + vol changes, pick attack and c--king of my Morley Wah.
  I started with the Pod on a slightly dirty pre-set, backing off tone and vol, letting the guitar capacitors do the cleaning up. Most of this, as you'll hear, shows how "stratty" the Mules sound when split.
 Again, I used my(only) recording setup: guitar>Wah>PodXT>Delta66>Sonar; drums courtesy of Cakewalk Session Drummer going through the bluejay kit samples in Kompakt; mastered in Ozone, then dithered down from 24-bit to mp3.
 Again, hope this does the Mules justice; thank you all for your encouraging comments on my last one.
Sorry it's a larger file this time...I compressed it as much as I could but still wanted you to hear the pickups' textures.

Nice to see/hear someone make a different kind of clips, beyond the heavy stuff that usually appears here.

Though I would have loved to hear this played through a cranked tube amp, still this sounds very nice indeed.

I guess with "the real thing" you would have gotten out a tad more vocal qualities and more dynamics.

Bear in mind it wasn't my intent to create a "track" but just to begin to investigate over a couple of posts the different qualities of a BKP pickup available to anyone who scratches the surface...more of a resource for potential and extant BKP users really. It's presented as more "complete songy" so as to be more pleasing to your ears.
  rain_dog and anyone else interested in the PodXT patch, actually I was mistaken. It was not a stock preset once I looked, as I was doing it by feel at the time! I'd made my own up as follows:
 California crunch; bass+mid full, treble 12 o clock, drive about 7 o clock, presence 0;  Tube Screamer mod at 50%; condenser mic 4; cab sim= number 14, 2x12 Class A. As you know, Pods are very responsive to the nuances of different guitars and pups, so happy tweaking!

 Pro Series 2 Wah/Vol; 'tis a tad modern-sounding for my taste so I always keep its onboard gain at zero.

These are alnico 4.
mmm(..says zigmund playing it again to make sure..) actually mid-position split to inner coils, both vols at around "4", wah in bass position. I remember wanting to start from a "Peter Green" tone, but as the pups' magnets are the right way round, this was a bit elusive! For the sharp tonal change afterwards I flipped to bridge only, just about having time to roll up the bridge vol and floor the wah. (Beats me how some of the guys here have loadsa pedals on the floor and keep their balance...I generally fall over!)

Just one other technical (trainspotting) question though, What string gauge  and type do you use, also what pick ? The playing is so effortlessly flowing, yet beautifully creamy ...  8)

Aagin, very kind of you all; it really is an encouragement to me.
Feline, every permission to be as anorakky as you want! I always use 9s, always D'Addario..no reason for the brand, I just like the pwiddy colours on the ball-ends.
 I always use a light-medium Jim Dunlop pick, no heavier than .73mm(my gawsh, I can't believe how anal I'm sounding here). In my earlier days of playing I'd use pick-per-note style and be very heavy-handed, a bit like a raw John McLaughlin...now I sorta brush/sweep-pick more and just let the left hand flit about a bit.
 Now, here's the thing too: I find the mastering set-up I use(which is an Ozone preset on the final mix) just has the right amount of simulated tube warmth and compression to allow those legato notes and the lighter right hand to be heard. The lighter touch also seems to be able to emphasise the squawk more.., er, emphatically, when I do dig in the pleccie.
