the only thing i MIGHT  of changed would be th pups to ceramic 'pigs...maybe.i have MMs in my dkmg an they sound great.
though im a bit depressed now. :cry:

interesting that! i just sold my standard SLSMG, which is a satin finish as opposed to gloss, and without the body binding.

are there any other differences other than that?

it was a really nice guitar.

About the jackson slsmg i did some digging around a while back on the jackson forums, apparently they made about 50-100 in a red stain and 50-100 in the black stain, For being a limited run its abit shocking that it came with pretty much standard parts, emg hz pickups, standard jackson tuning heads, standard (unbranded) tune o matic. I think the only difference is the finish, flame maple body and headstock veneers and the binding, great guitar to play though, just has a nice feel to it.

In saying that though i think i do preffer the action on the dean cadillac, but it just feels cheaply made (it is korean i suppose) specially dont like the neck joint (sharp line of contrast between the wood grains whereas the jackson kind of blends together)

As for recording I have an M-Audio MobilePre USB stereo interface, a Blue Baby Bottle mic, and SM58 and I use either Adobe Audition or Cubase for recording. I also have Propellorhead Reason 3.0 for creating backing tracks.

* Early 70s Laney Klipp 100w head.  Bog stock, I use the clean channel high input running at 16ohms output.
* Marshall 1960A 4x12.  Fitted with Celestion Vintage 30s.
* '65 reissue Epiphone SG with vibrola.  Upgraded with Riff Raff BKPs, CTS pots, Hovland MusiCaps, a Tusq nut, and a Tone-Pros bridge
* ClearTone cables
* Dunlop Jazz III Reds picks
* Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings

Got a gig tonight and I'll also be using this, which has now become part of my rig:  :D
