It started when I bought my BC Rich Mockingbird 'Fire Breather' as a project. The truss rod pushed the fretboard right off the neck, tried to fix it but it didn't work. So I got a new Jackson replica neck for it. While I was at it, I might as well get a new pickup for it. I ordered a DiMarzio Super Distortion, wich was out of stock. I went to Harmony Central and scrolled through all the different pickup companies. When I hit BKP, I saw all these interesting names and checked them all out. I was getting interested in the Miracle Man and the Warpig. I went to the BKP site and saw a picture of the Warpig and I said: THIS IS IT!!! No pickup could ever be better for this guitar, screw my budget!
And I ordered one. Now I'm here, I'm addicted and you all know the rest.

as i recall, i google'd for 'guitar pickups uk' and BK was about the fourth result down. i'd been looking at Duncans, EMGs, diMarzios etc. but something about BK just suggested they were something special, so i kept coming back to the site.

I saw the ad for the Crawler, then went to the web site and saw all the pickups.  Then I read the reviews on Harmony Central and once I thought I knew what I wanted, I emailled Tim.  He came back with a few things I hadn't thought about, so I got on the phone and spoke to him for about an hour!  I ended up buying a custom Emerald/Mule IV set and a Crawler/2 P-91 set.  Since then I have become addicted and now have lots of them  :good:

I have also made Tim make me several strange pickups.  He is great for this, no requests ever seem to be a problem, I have a tapped Mississippi Queen, a Pig-90 jnr, a Black Dog P-90, EMG sized Strat, Nailbomb with 2 screw coils  :wallbash:

All the pickups sound great, and everyone at BKP is great too.  They all will take the time to explain something if you have questions.  Try that with any other pickup maker.
So many pickups, so little time

:D i had been a Dimarzio super distortion man for donkeys years. When i got a ibanez RG i thought i`d like something a bit more tone based, so i bought a Dimarzio Breed Neck & a Tone Zone Bridge what a mistake dreadfull F***ing racket !!

i was so disapointed that i started looking into Seymor Duncans !!!  Whilst thinking about how cr@p duncans were i came across an add in Guitar Buyer for the Warpig i thought bugger that that`s the last thing i need !!  :P

at some point there was an add for The Stormy Monday & i thought thats more like it so i checked out the web site  & found to my surprise that they did a range of P/U`s the LGS was only a few weeks away so i waited untill then read the Harmony Central reviews & went to LGS 2004 were i met Tim & the Guys,  HJM said try these out there new not yet on the site there called VHII`s & i was Hooked !!

Sure I've said this before but a customer brought an Epi SG and a pair of Riff Raffs, could I fit them. I didn't say it but I was thinking (£200 for pickups for an Epi......? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha)

However, when I plugged it in for the first time, it was the best SG I'd ever heard! I got on the phone to Tim and the rest is history. I am now a Bareknucklepickupjunkie.

I saw an ad in Guitar (now called Guitar and Bass) magazine for (if I remember correctly) the Stormy Monday and Miracle Man pickups.

I found the website and the rest is history  :)

I now plan on a set of covered Mules for my LP Standard, a HSS set for an old Strat I have (undecided on the pickups) and also a pair of Tele pickups for a cheapie Tele I have, although I don't know which 1's I want in that guitar either!  :D

I'm sure I saw the advert in Guitarist but not 100% sure - my memory is not as good as it used to be!
Am glad I found out about BKP though - I might have ended up with one of the worst pickups you can get (according to some of you guys)!!
MM set, warpig set, about to be fitted - custom 7 bridge 'pig, CS7 neck.

Would that be the pickup that refers to a certain year? That year in wich Cadillacs had the tallest fins?

Read the Miracle Man review in Total Guitar, rang Tim up and told him what I was looking for. He really took the time out to talk to me, even transcontinentally, which could've been viewed as a waste of time for him, since I would be ordering the pickups unseen, unheard, and based soley on his recommendations.

We spoke 3 times in total, I think, and then I ordered my 1st set.

There had been a buzz about them on the Duncan forum, but no one over there has any experience with the BKPs. When I got mine, I went on a full-time assault to raise awareness of BKPs.

A friend went to a UK guitar show a few months back -- he came back raving to me about the Brown Sugars he got for his Tele and told me he wanted Mules of Warpigs for his LP.  I've been putting off replacing my LP's pickups since about 1994, but when I heard someone was making sh*t-hot pickups called "Mule" and "Warpig" ... well, how could I not check out what that was about!  Clearly, they had the right idea :)

Now I just need to a) save up, and b) decide!
