Kahler suit some guitar and others they don't but I prefer the whole system to a floyd. Hardtail ftw anyway ;)

I think WezV prefers to discuss prices over PM.

I PM'ed - didnt want to do another rant about how unfair it is to use Tim's forum as my ad space...

As for the kahler, they are the marmite of guitar bridges.  Personally i like the clunky over engineered look but certainly wouldnt  want it on every guitar - i reckon it will really suit the explorer though..... like i say, just trying out things i have less experience with.  they do 7 and 8 string versions now and they have the option of locking the trem!!  Very finicky to set up though and i think thats why they have a bad reputation.

They do 9 and 10 string versions too, as well as being adaptable to accommodate a fanned bridge :)

they do suit explorers incredibly well if they have a medium darkness finish if its too dark or light they look awful

I have the neck  of the explorer just about ready to glue into the body

I have added a black veneer to the splice join i had to do to use this left over wood - better to make a feature out of it than try and hide it

i have glued a large chunk or rosewood to the heel to add some thickness that will give me a a neck join more like i want and it will also add interest when i get to carving the heel after the neck and body are joined together
