I just watched Rogue, by Greg McLean, the director of Wolf Creek.  Very disappointing.

It might get a bit of a footnote in history as the last film Sam Worthington did before Hollywood stardom!

Rogue? Is that the croc one?

Went to see 'The girl with the dragon tattoo' last night. Absolutely cracking film noir (a genre I love!). Some very uncomfortable scenes in it, that leave you feeling dirty, but all works for the progression of the film. It's long (about 2hrs 30mins) but definitely worth it...go see i...oh and go see the non dubbed version, it'll work out better

i've read the books. the 2nd and 3rd one are even better.

i think i'll wait till it comes out on sky (or even dvd), knowing what happens, i want the option to be able to turn it off if i can't take it. EDIT: yeah, i'd definitely want to see the one in swedish with subs. dubbing is just generally total cr@p.

I saw the film last summer, at which point I'd never even heard of the books.  Thought it was excellent.

I've got the first two books now, but I'm waiting for the third one to come out in paperback before reading them.

I watched Manos: The Hands of Fate the other night. Widely regarded as the worst film ever made.

It's absolutely breathtaking.

The Foot Fist Way: like The Office set in the world of Martial Arts, specifically Tae Kwon Do. There are some good lines/moments in it but just not enough. Shame, as I can see the potential, it could have been a classic but isn't.

Yoidore Tenshi (Drunken Angel): I really should have seen all the Akira Kurosawa films by now but I've missed this one. Enjoyed it a great deal, excellent performances, the death scene is particularly well done. The story focuses on the relationship formed between a middle-aged, alcoholic Doctor and a young gangster who has TB. Strongly recommended to anyone who hasn't seen it.

The Union: Documentary about Cannabis, well worth a watch despite have an obvious bias.

On the TV front, I've just finished watching Nurse Jackie - Series 1 which was good, looking forward to the next series.

Really must see this.  I was about to splash out on Ran on Blu Ray to replace my DVD but have discovered that almost all the Kurosawa Blu Ray releases have rotten transfers that are no improvement on DVD.  I saw Ran in the cinema a few years back so I know it can look amazing.

Watched The Hangover recently. A great film if you fancy something that requires no brain. I did laugh out loud more than a few times.
