For the 2K mark I would be looking to get one built, therefore have maximum input into its birth.
Although lead times beyond a year are no fun I'm getting old :)
However  I agree the Suhr's do look very tempting.

Also a Gibson 335 with a set of BN's would have to be considered. So when do i receive the 2K ?  :D

Either go custom,

Or a Vigier Excalibur Shawn Lane Master http://www.vigierguitars.com/page/fiche_produit.php?id_prod=233 and fit it with some BKPs.

I'd get a Gibson R7 Historic Gold top then proceed to fit a set of mules! I'd be done then.

i'd probably get a custom legra/feline/wezv etc.

if it has to be off-the-shelf, i'd probably get a tyler/vigier/huber etc.

I'm looking for a guitar which is versatile, 2 humbuckers (i don't mind if there is a single coil in the middle), and is suited for anything but metal (Blues, Funk, Jazz Fusion etc.)...

I'd buy an ES-335, it'll do all that AND more.  Put some Stormy Mondays or Mules in it then sit back and admire a tonal gem.

I think I'd go for a 339 and a nice acoustic-talking of which, I went with a mate yesterday to Andertons to look at acoustics-he was going to spend up to £400.00 as he wanted a good guitar to practice on.He ended up with a Taylor Big Baby. Fantastic guitar for the money. I think I'd get one if I had change from the 339.

True that. I was picking an acoustic guitar for my brother last year, and the Big Baby came out top in the bang/buck stakes. To a certain extent, I honestly wonder how Taylor can move their lower-mid range instruments when it exists, as it's really, really good. Until you get into the grand-plus ranges, it holds it's own, and it's very "simple" looking, which wins it points from me.

I'm also REALLY gassing for a P90 guitar, i was in guitarguitar a while ago and played a Gibson Les Paul Junior 57, and loved it!

Those baby taylors are really nice actually, heard a guy playing one in a shop once and thought it sounded surprisingly good.
Driving in my car, smoking my cigar, the only time i'm happys when i'm playing my guitar!

I would get a Flying V or Explorerstyle guitar. The brand is not so important to me, but it should be 24.75" scale. Gibson, ESP, Ran, KxK would be the first companies I'd look at.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

The 400 pound mark acoustic is a hard one to choose as there are so many options. I'll have to try one of those Taylors, I've seen the ads for them. I've got a to get a decent one, my old korean fender is awful.
