I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds that somewhat odd. It seems to be a bit Stepford Wives in there, and they all seem very clean and shiny.

I'd love these people to read about the work that Zack, Tom and Co have done to combat injustice, support charities and fight discrimination... but I doubt half of them are even literate enough to understand what PMRC means.

Also, why does every other post seem to be from a mod?

How much moderation does one board need?

Rage being a flash in the pan is ironytastic  (But I think that board is mainly populated and run by 13 year olds)

One of them said that Rage wont (older post) be number one because simon cowell wont let it happen. I dont even think they were joking either. (then again its hard to tell)

N11

Post N13 is also somewhat mindboggling. Negativity is NOT ALLOWED. Beatings will continue until morale improves.

Here's the unedited performance that the BBC cut short (can't think why) last week:

I rather enjoyed that!

The people who follow X factor and all the other mind numbing drivel on TV these days, seem to me to be molded to a certain template. Just like the fast food industry works its customers, the X factor does the same with theirs. From cradle to the grave, customers for life. Lining the pockets of a grabby little freak!
I couldn't stop laughing when I heard RATM had the number 1 spot. I hope this is the beginning of the end!
 :D
My girlfriends daughter just can't understand why I don't like X factor, so does my girlfriend too to be honest, brainwashed! Its so far reaching these days too. I did explain a bit without trying too sound cynical but got shot down as bah humbug!

Anyone know the figures?

Can't say I am at all interested in either acts, but it represents something a little different from the music industry

That could well be more than the X Factor single would've sold without the competition to drive sales.  So in one sense Cowell may have won after all.

We best accept it now. The odds are heavily stacked in RATM's favour.

I will be astonished if Joe wins this thing now.

I dont get them either. I know exactly what you mean. *Some* people (really rather a lot actually) lap up this plastic soulless lifeless cr@p. It mystifies me as to why. X-Factor is a precision-calculated marketing device designed to create disposable one-hit-wonders with zero long term appeal so the whole insidious thing can start again with another bunch of pollished turds next year, thus maximising profitability and long term tenability.

Its great business, if you look at it in a machiavellian sort of way.

People that take it in in the way those imbeciles on the Joe whatsisname forum have are either *ahem* mentally challenged or remarkably niave.

Shobet described it quite well, imo.

If you've ever watched Dollhouse - they sort of remind me of the Dolls. Non-people, innocent and helpless, waiting to be imprinted with devotion for one of a number of meticulously crafted human products otherwise known as 'x-factor contestants'. This time next year they'll all have forgetten this joe fella and will have latched onto the next thing.

EDIT: IMO, of course. Wouldnt want to be negative.

I would think the members of that forum are of the 12 year old girl variety, so you can write most of that stuff off as uneducated ramblings, thankfully.

I guessed as much.

I find it hard to believe that the mods, who are the worst offenders, are all hormonally challenged metally deficient teens, though.
